‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8: Did Emilia Clarke Reveal a Big Hint About Her Last Scene?
Some actors are finishing up their scenes of the last season of Game of Thrones. Obviously, they can’t spoil anything given the great lengths the show takes to avoid spoilers. There are rumors they filmed alternate endings just in case. But actors have teased a little bit about what they filmed.
That includes Emilia Clarke who is one of the biggest stars of the show. She talked about what her last days of filming were like and might have revealed something (page 5). Here are seven things to know about what the actors have hinted about the upcoming season, including Clarke.
1. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau says the show ends the right way
- The star seems to think the show ends in a way fans will be happy with.
There is a lot of pressure riding on this last season and it’s up against a lot. For one, the book series the show is based on hasn’t finished, so the ending is without the source material. Secondly, it has a lot of loose ends to wrap up in a limited amount of episode.
But the actor behind Jaime Lannister seems to think the show will nail it. He said, according to Winter Is Coming, “I also know that we end the right way and the show ends on its own terms. When I read the scripts for the last season, I was like, ‘Wow, they really pulled it off.’ It’s one story from season 1 to 9 and it makes sense.”

2. Coster-Waldau said the theory that Jaime kills Cersei makes sense
- The actor thinks it’s not unbelievable that his character would kill his sister.
Cersei has made a lot of enemies throughout the seasons and her relationship with Jaime has become more complicated.
When Coster-Waldau was asked about the theory that it will be Jamie who kills her he said, according to InStyle, “It makes sense. He killed the Mad King, and now he’s killing the Mad Queen. It’d be like the Red Wedding two. That would be really horrible. I hope he wouldn’t.”

3. There will be more Rhaegar flashbacks
- Wilf Scolding posted a picture teasing that he will be in the upcoming season.
There was a big Targaryen family secret that was revealed last season. It looks like this season will expose even more because actor Wilf Scolding posted a picture outside a hotel in Belfast close to where the show was known to be filming, according to Daily Mail.
He played Rhaegar Targaryen in the flashbacks.

4. There was a battle filmed that took 55 nights to shoot
- The show’s battles are only getting bigger in the next season.
The filming of the last season also made headlines because it took 55 nights to shoot one battle. This was mentioned in a thank you note by a producer.
There haven’t been any actors officially confirmed to be in the scenes, but there is a good chance Arya Stark is. After all, Maisie Williams said she had 12 weeks of night shoots.

5. Clarke said the last days ‘f*cked me up’
- It seems like Daenerys might do something unexpected in her last scene.
It’s expected for actors to be emotional about their last days on the hit show. But it sounds like there is something more to what Clarke has to say about wrapping up Daenerys’ storyline. ”
It f*cked me up,” she told Vanity Fair. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is …”

6. She says Daenerys does some weird ‘sh*t’
- Apparently, the Khaleesi still has some weird scenes ahead.
The powerful character has eaten a horse’s heart, walked through fire, and so much more. But it seems like some more weirdness is ahead.

7. Clarke admitted she was emotional on set
- The actress said she had to be comforted because she was emotional for her last scenes.
The plot wasn’t the only thing that made Clarke’s last moments in Game of Thrones hard. “It really is the most heartbreaking thing to be filming the last of anything,” she said on Good Morning America. “I’ve become an emotional wreck on set. They’re like ‘Emilia…it’s OK’ and I’m like, ‘But it’s the last time!'”
