‘Game of Thrones’ Star Emilia Clarke Pays Tribute to NHS Workers With Topless Mystery Man
Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke just paid tribute to National Health Service workers on social media. The actress showed her support in a short clip that also featured a mysterious topless man. The post was meant to praise frontline workers, but it has also sparked reports that Clarke might be dating someone new.
Emilia Clarke opens up about her dating life
Clarke broke up with her boyfriend, Charlie McDowell, a director based out of the United States, in 2019. The pair had been dating for around a year at the time of their split.
In October of 2018, Clarke posted a photo of two figures embracing on a beach in honor of her 32nd birthday. McDowell shared the exact same image on his Instagram account, confirming that he was the other person in the pic.
This summer will mark a year since Clarke and McDowell parted ways and she has yet to reveal if she is dating anyone new. But Clarke’s next boyfriend will likely be someone who has no connections to Hollywood.
According to The Sun, Emilia Clarke recently offered fans an update on her romantic life and revealed that she might be done dating actors — at least for the time being.
“I am single right now,” the Game of Thrones star shared. “Dating in this industry is interesting. I have a lot of anecdotes, a lot of stuff I can say at a fun dinner. I was dating actors but I’m not now.”
While Clarke has not had any luck dating actors, she does have a very close friendship with her former on-screen romance, Kit Harington.
Inside Clarke’s close relationship with Kit Harington
During the early days of Game of Thrones, there were many rumors that Clarke and Harington were romantically involved outside of work. Turns out the two are just good friends, and they have both shut down romance rumors on multiple occasions.
In 2017, Harington opened up about the first time he met Clarke. According to Harpers Bazaar, the actor complimented Emilia Clarke for being “absolutely stunning” and having a “wicked sense of humor.”
“I remember vividly the first time I met Emilia, which was in the hotel bar in Belfast, before Season 1. I was sort of bowled over by this absolutely stunning, petite girl with this wicked sense of humor. We became very fast friends quite quickly,” he explained.
While Harington and Clarke developed a close bond over the years, Harington later admitted that she has a “filthy, filthy mind when she wants to.” Harington did not elaborate on his comment, but it is clear that he and Clarke have become very good friends.
Emilia Clarke, meanwhile, has also shared her thoughts on her friendship with Harington. The Me Before You star confessed that she and Harington basically lived through the same experience as young actors, something that has contributed to their close-knit friendship.
“We are pretty much the same age, and our characters have had parallel journeys, and we as actors have had parallel journeys. We’ve both done stupid action movies we regret and fabulous things we’re proud of, and we’ve always come back to Thrones,” she stated.
Emilia Clarke pays tribute to NHS workers alongside topless man
With most of the world under lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, Clarke recently took part in a show of support for NHS workers around the country. The clip featured the actress holding her dog while a mystery shirtless man jumped around outside of her home.
We do not know who the mystery man is but Clarke definitely had fun in the clip. The actress is currently hunkering down at her estate in Hampstead, North London, where she will likely remain until the crisis is averted.
In addition to the video, Clarke recently launched a challenge that will give 12 lucky fans a chance to dine with her in London. To enter, fans have to donate to Clarke’s charity SameYou, which helps people who have suffered from severe brain injuries.
“We’ll cook it together and eat it together. And we will discuss lots of things — isolation and fear and also funny videos. And, you know, the fact that I can’t really cook. So it’s going to be fun,” Clarke told her followers.
Clarke hopes to bring home over $250,000 for the charity, which is working alongside the University College London Hospital and the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts. The organization’s main goal is to free up hospital beds to help in the fight against the coronavirus.
Emilia Clarke launched SameYou following her own struggles with brain injuries. During the first few seasons of Game of Thrones, Clarke experienced two brain aneurysms.
