‘Game of Thrones’: Why Fans Are Siding with Sansa Stark Against Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen

Fans have been waiting for the main characters of Game of Thrones to meet and reunite. They got what they asked for in the Season 8 premiere, but Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) isn’t seeing eye to eye with Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke.)

Fans are now taking sides! Find out why fans are siding with the Lady of Winterfell and more.

Sansa Stark isn’t happy that Jon Snow is with Daenerys Targaryen

Season 8 of Game of Thrones started off with the episode, “Winterfell.” The Stark family reunites, but are not totally on the same side. That’s because Jon Snow introduced his new queen, Daenerys Targaryen to them.

The North isn’t exactly trusting of outsiders with good reason. Daenerys is the daughter of the Mad King and she tends to rule harshly herself. They wanted Jon Snow to be king instead of having another outsider rule.

Sansa, who is the Lady of Winterfell, brings up many reasonable concerns. Everyone is being asked to come to Winterfell to fight, but how will they be fed? How can Daenerys be trusted to be a kind leader after all she’s done to rule all seven kingdoms? Is Jon Snow not actually thinking straight because of his feelings for Daenerys?

It looks like fans think Sansa is right to question Jon and Daenerys. They are making plans and assuming everyone else should go along with them.

Arya (Maisie Williams) also backed up her sister by calling her the smartest person she’s ever met. She’s a fan favorite so that kind of backing means a lot.

Fans think Daenerys is being too ruthless to stay queen

Daenerys isn’t against using force to bring people to bend the knee. It has worked for her so far, but it might not work against the Starks. That’s because they’re a beloved family in the North and in the Game of Thrones fandom.

Daenerys already confronted Jon in “Winterfell” about Sansa saying “Your sister doesn’t like me.” She then said, “She doesn’t need to be my friend but I am her queen. If she can’t respect me…” The queen never finishes that thought but we can gather from her burning the Tarlys for not bending the knee that she wouldn’t be against doing the same to Sansa.

Her decision to kill Randyll and Dickon Tarly has already come back to bite her. After she told Samwell that she killed his father and brother, he tells Jon that he is the rightful heir to the throne. That’s because he’s Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen’s son, Aegon.

Jon Snow is hesitant to believe it and said it would be treason for him to claim the throne. However, Samwell (John Bradley) said that Daenerys shouldn’t be queen and wouldn’t give up her crown to save her people.

Jon is left to make a huge decision and for now, the family is split on their feelings about Daenerys. Right now, it looks like fans are Team Sansa.
