‘General Hospital’ Star James Patrick Stuart Just Revealed Something About Kobe Bryant’s Helicopter Crash That Has Fans Shocked
People around the world are still trying to come to terms with the tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant. On Jan. 26, Kobe and his daughter Gianna Bryant were headed to the Mamba Academy when their helicopter crashed. All nine people on board died in the accident. Since the incident was first announced, people have been trying to find out everything that they can about what occurred.
While everyone was looking for answers, General Hospital star James Patrick Stuart tweeted some new information about the crash that has fans shocked.
What caused Kobe Bryant’s accident?
The first thing everyone wanted to know when the news of the accident first broke was “why?” What caused the accident.
Though it may take months for investigators to figure out the actual cause of the crash, most people believe that the bad weather had a major role to play. In the pilot’s last message, he told air traffic control that he was going higher to get away from a thick layer of clouds. According to the New York Times, the fog was so thick that day that it blinded drivers on the freeway and the LAPD even grounded its helicopters.

General Hospital star, Stuart, also weighed in on the crash, revealing something that most fans didn’t know.
“I went to Jr. High School a few miles from where Kobe Bryant’s helicopter went down,” he tweeted. “Those mountains are the same ones from the opening sequence of the MASH tv show. The 101 freeway rises into them. God help even the finest pilot using that freeway to visually navigate in fog.”
Many fans were unaware of the mountains’ connection to MASH and that realization made the crash all the more tragic.
“So sad,” one person responded. “Still so heartbreaking. I didn’t know those were the mountains in the opening sequence of MASH.”
“That hits way too close to home,” another person said. “Such a tragedy… heartbreaking for all involved. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain. I’m not sure how one recovers from this.”
“Oh goodness,” another user tweeted. “The officials said the area was remote but I had no idea!”
“The more I learn about this tragedy, the more I realize it was unavoidable!” one fan said. “Sadly, we cannot bring any of them back.”
