‘Glass’ Cast: Who Will Return in the ‘Unbreakable’ Film Series?

M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable hit theaters in 2000 and is a fan favorite amongst his body of work. Finally, Shyamalan has delivered the “sequel” he’s been teasing almost two decades later with Glass. While Split does occur in the same universe, the connection to Unbreakable was left to the very end, leaving fans craving more. The wait is finally over and the amazing cast from the first two installments are back for an encore.

Bruce Willis as David Dunn

David Dunn, the “super strong” superhero vigilante with “the vision” has returned. It’s uncertain what he’s been up to since the end of Unbreakable, but his brief cameo in Split shows he’s still very much around. Dunn finds himself standing between The Beast and some cheerleaders in the much-awaited third movie in the trilogy. He saves the day but at the cost of his freedom. In Glass, Dunn is once again face-to-face with the enemy — the unforgettable Mr. Glass.

Willis didn’t slow down after his appearance as Dunn in Unbreakable. He’s appeared in iconic roles such as Hartigan in Sin City, Harrison Hill in Perfect Stranger, John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard, Church in The Expendables 2, Old Joe in Looper and of course Dunn in Split.

Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price aka Mr. Glass

Mr. Glass is the supervillain of the Unbreakable universe. While he may have aged, his wits haven’t dimmed in the slightest. The fragile mastermind has been kept under control thanks to mind-numbing medication, but once put in the presence of interesting company the institution can’t keep his wicked ways under wraps. His old friend and lifelong “nemesis” Dunn and the intriguing Kevin Wendell Crumb get locked up alongside him causing the wheels of his mind to start turning once again.

Jackson, like Willis, didn’t slow down after the riveting role. He’s been Mace Windu in various Star Wars films, Jack Friar in No Good Deed, Agent Augustus Gibbons in the xXx films, Rufus in Kill Bill: Vol 2, Neville Flynn in Snakes on a Plane, and Nick Fury in several Marvel movies.

Spencer Treat Clark as Joseph Dunn

Eighteen years ago Spencer Treat Clark played Dunn’s son, Joseph. The once child actor is now all grown up. He isn’t shown in the initial trailer much so fans will have to wait and see the role he will play in the film.

Clark has stayed active in the acting circuit and has starred in several roles in both series and movies. Two of his most memorable roles were as Justin in The Last House on The Left and Werner von Strucker in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Charlayne Woodard as Mrs. Price

Perhaps it’s because he’s her son…but Mrs. Price seems oddly supportive considering the situation. You can hear her speaking in the trailer above, commenting on how he has recently given up due to his circumstances. Despite that, she says there is no doubt that he is smarter than those who have him captive.

“They always underestimate the mastermind,” she says. Based on the trailers, she’s absolutely right.

Woodward has played a part in numerous television series since her role as Mrs. Price. She’s made an appearance in ER, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and more recently Pose.

Shyamalan fans can also look forward to seeing James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy reprise their roles from Split.

James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb

Crumb wasn’t the last face audiences saw in Split, instead, it was some of his main personalities that left people craving more. Crumb most likely won’t be getting much screen time, but sources say we can look forward to seeing 21 of his other personas including Barry, Hedwig, Dennis, Patricia, and of course The Beast himself. Crumb, a stranger to his two “housemates,” will play an integral part as Mr. Glass intends to harness his exceptional power to prove to the world that supernatural abilities do exist.

McAvoy did an amazing job portraying Crumb’s multiple personalities but it isn’t his first time nailing a role. Since his time on screen as the unforgettable Crumb in 2016 McAvoy has appeared in a few films including Atomic Blonde and Submergence.

Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke

Cooke, the sole survivor of Split, is back, and she will once again find herself in the presence of her captor. Cooke didn’t have a huge role in the trailer either but given her role in the first one…some tense scenes are definitely on the horizon.

Taylor-Joy really captivated audiences while they watched her struggle to survive in the Unbreakable “sequel”. The young actress has since been cast in several films including The Secret of Marrowbone and Thoroughbred.

Sarah Paulson is joining the cast

Glass will be introducing a new character to the mix, Dr. Ellie Staple, who is played by Sarah Paulson. She is a core character and is the one overlooking Price, Dunn, and Crumb. Dr. Staple has discovered a way to bring out Crumb’s personalities and is working towards breaking the groups “delusions”. Little does she know, their power is far from fake. With three supernatural beings under one roof, Staple is in for a surprise.

Paulson is best known for her work on American Horror Story. She has played several unique roles across the lifetime of the show which has highlighted the broad range of her acting abilities.
