‘Glee’s Lea Michele Is Married: Here’s What We Know About Her Big Day
In the wake of ARod and JLo’s engagement announcement, there’s another celebrity wedding to celebrate: That of Glee actress Lea Michele. The performer wed Zandy Reich on March 9, 2019. Here’s what we know about their ceremony, their history, and more about what Michele has been up to lately.
Who is Lea Michele?
Michele is perhaps best known for her starring role on the Fox musical comedy Glee. She starred as Rachel Berry, a teenage outcast with big dreams of stardom, who is pivotal in starting up a glee club at her Ohio high school. The series aired for six seasons on the network, and was the show that launched creator Ryan Murphy to super stardom.
What has she been up to since Glee?
After the show’s cancelation in 2015, Michele appeared in the ensemble comedy New Year’s Eve, before landing a role in Murphy’s horror series Scream Queens. She also had a starring role on the short-lived ABC sitcom The Mayor.
In addition to acting, Michele has put out two studio albums since Glee. She has also taken part in numerous philanthropic events, including various benefit concerts. In 2018, Michele teamed up with her former Glee co-star Darren Criss for a concert tour singing a mix of their own songs and others from pop culture and musicals.
Michele married Zandy Reich
Michele announced her engagement to Reich in April 2018 on Instagram with a photo of her massive ring and the caption, “Yes.” The couple has been together since 2017. Reich is the president of the clothing brand AYR.
In an exclusive announcement to People, the newlyweds said,
Who did Michele date before Reich?
Prior to dating Reich, Michele was linked to her Dimension 404 co-star Robert Buckley (iZombie), as well as actor Matthew Paetz, who she dated for nearly two years. However, her most well-known relationship was with her Glee co-star, Cory Monteith.
Monteith and Michele began dating while filming Glee. On July 13, 2013, prior to the beginning of filming for Season 5, Monteith tragically passed away from a drug overdose. Both Michele and the show have paid tribute to the actor multiple times over the years.
Michele is still close with her Glee co-stars
As it was such a formative experience for the show’s young leads, it’s no surprise that Michele has remained close with many of her former co-stars from Glee. In addition to Criss (who played Blaine Anderson), Michele is close with Becca Tobin (Kitty Wilde) and Jonathan Groff (Jesse St. James). According to People, Criss and Tobin were at the wedding, as was Michele’s Scream Queens co-star, Emma Roberts.
Michele at one point posted a photo with Groff which she captioned, “Maid of honor,” but there’s still no word yet as to whether that was a statement of fact or just a silly caption. Regardless, it appears as though she had a happy and beautiful wedding day.
