New ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 16 Trailer Spells Out Disaster for Everyone
The internet is flooding with excitement over the Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 premiere on Sept. 26. As Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Richard (James Pickens Jr.), and Alex (Justin Chambers) deal with getting fired, fans are left wondering if Jackson (Jesse Williams) is dead or alive. Luckily, ABC dropped an extended Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 trailer ahead of the premiere. But, things aren’t looking too great for our favorite doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial. And quite frankly, the promo might bring you more heartache.
The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 16 premiere trailer proves “Orange is the New Grey”
The new Grey’s Anatomy promo opens with Meredith carrying out her court-ordered community service in a bright orange vest. A woman recognizes the former Grey Sloan surgeon and asks, “Is this some sort of volunteer thing?”
“Something like that,” Meredith responds. However, it wasn’t long before a supervisor outed our girl. “Get back to work before I tell the court you’re in contempt,” the supervisor says. The trailer then flashes to someone asking Meredith if she is really a doctor. “I might be,” Meredith replies. “It’s still undecided.”
For those of you who don’t remember, the promo explains what happened to Meredith, Alex, and Richard in season 15. “Due to criminal activity, Alex Karev, Meredith Grey, and Richard Webber no longer work here,” Bailey (Chandra Wilson) told Owen (Kevin McKidd), Amelia (Caterina Scorsone), and Teddy (Kim Raver). “What?” Owen responds. Our thoughts exactly.
But, it’s going to take a lot more than that before the Harper Avery Award winner stops practicing medicine — sort of. Later the preview, Meredith helps a fellow community service member with her foot.
“This isn’t a walk-in clinic, Grey,” the supervisor exclaims.
Owen begs Teddy to go home with him
In a brief clip, the Grey’s Anatomy trailer hints Teddy and Owen’s relationship “cools down” in season 16. “Come home with me,” Owen says.
However, Teddy refuses, despite looking visibly exhausted from the baby. “No, I’m not going back home,” she declares as the baby screams.
Koracick and Owen Face-Off
It also seems Owen has to deal with another battle of his own. This time with Tom Koracick (Greg Germann). “Catherine (Debbie Allen) made me god of this place,” Koracick tells Owen in a new awkward elevator scene. “So I’m your boss.”
But wait, this is just the start of Petty Koracick. And it’s kind of hilarious. Just as Owen is about to step out of the elevator, Koracick stops him. “Oh no,” he says before waltzing out. “After me.”
Amelia proposes an open relationship to Link
Meanwhile, the Grey’s Anatomy promo hints Amelia and Link’s (Chris Carmack) relationship is about to steam up. But it may not be what Link had in mind.
“I like you a lot,” Amelia says in the trailer. She then proposes something a little less traditional. During a dinner date, Amelia tells Link, “Maybe we could have sex with more than one person.”
But it’s not exactly clear how Link feels in the moment. “Um,” he says, looking up at the ceiling. Yikes.
Jo and Alex might break up in season 16
Sorry, JoLex fans. Apparently, Alex and Jo (Camilla Luddington) can’t have nice things. Their relationship is on the rocks again in season 16 of Grey’s Anatomy.
In the preview, Alex checks Jo into a treatment center after everything she endured during the 15th season. Now, despite Alex’s supportive attitude, it looks like Jo is pushing him away.
“Alex, we’re not even legally married,” she says before leaving for the treatment center. “You have an out. I understand if you want to take it.”
Nope. Unacceptable. First of all, what do you mean Alex and Jo aren’t really married? They forgot to mail their marriage certificate in season 15. You can’t seriously tell me they still haven’t done it yet. And second, Alex would never leave Jo like this — or would he?
What happened to Jackson on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’?
Finally, the trailer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 teases what happens to Jackson. But, it doesn’t look good. In the promo, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) is clearly panicked. However, it seems an ambulance manages to pull Jackson to Grey Sloan Memorial.
“I have an incoming trauma,” Bailey says as clips of worried faces flash by.
“Now is not time to give up on him,” Owen exclaims. That being said, it’s difficult to determine if Bailey and Owen are speaking about Jackson. He isn’t actually shown in the preview. Nevertheless, this is Grey’s Anatomy. So no one is safe.
Seriously? Seriously. The Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 promo is looming with disastrous storylines. And not going to lie, as a Grey’s fan, you should be scared. But hey, isn’t that why we love the Shondaland series in the first place? So stay tuned.
