Gwen Stefani Didn’t Know Blake Shelton Existed Before ‘The Voice,’ Now She Dreams Of Giving Him His Own Child
It’s no secret that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton’s romance started on the set of The Voice, but it turns out the two may have never even met if it hadn’t been for the hit singing competition. Despite Shelton’s popularity in the country music industry, Stefani recently admitted that she did not even know he existed prior to meeting him on The Voice. Good thing the show brought them together.
Gwen Stefani opens up about meeting Blake Shelton
Shelton and Stefani started seeing each other back in 2015. At the time, they were both working on season 9 of The Voice and were coming off respective divorces from Miranda Lambert and Gavin Rossdale.
It did not take long before their romance blew up, though Stefani left the series the following year. She would later appear alongside Shelton in season 12 and is back in action for season 17.
According to Us Magazine, Stefani opened up about her romance with Shelton during an interview with Andy Cohen on his radio show. The No Doubt frontwoman revealed that she did not know anything about Shelton before her first appearance on The Voice in season 7.
“I didn’t even know he existed before the show,” Gwen Stefani shared. “I didn’t even know that he was a human being on this planet.”
Stefani went on to praise Blake Shelton for being such a good competitor on The Voice. The two are facing off in season 17, which is also the first run that does not feature Shelton’s long-time nemesis, Adam Levine.
Although Stefani had nothing but good things to say about her lover, we’re pretty confident she would enjoy beating him on the show.
Blake Shelton takes on stepdad role
When he is not appearing on The Voice, Shelton has been adjusting to his role as a step-dad to Stefani’s three children: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
In her interview, Gwen Stefani revealed that Shelton is a great dad to her kids and helps a lot around the house. She’s even reached the point where she relies on Shelton’s help on a daily basis and cannot wait until he gets home.
Stefani also noted that Blake Shelton has developed a close bond with all three of her boys. Not only do they enjoy visiting Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma, but he also participates in activities they love, like playing basketball.
“He’s extremely close with them,” Stefani shared. “They’re always playing basketball or running around.”
Stefani shares her children with her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale. As far as Shelton is concerned, the country crooner does not have any children of his own. That, however, might change in the near future.
Will Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have more kids?
Shelton and Stefani have faced baby rumors for several years and counting. Inside sources claim that Stefani is open to having more children, but there are several hurdles they need to tackle before it happens.
For starters, Stefani is not sure she wants to have children given her age. If she doesn’t have a child naturally, then they could adopt, but that takes even more logistics to work out.
At the end of the day, Stefani wants to give Shelton a child of his own, but she has not worked out the best way to make it happen – at least according to the sources.
Until they have a baby of their own, Shelton appears content with being a father figure to Stefani’s boys. So far, the country singer has proven that he can handle fatherly duties, which only makes Stefani love him more.
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton share a sweet moment on ‘The Voice’
With Stefani and Shelton reuniting on The Voice, we can expect quite a few adorable moments between the couple. Things are definitely going to get heated, but there will be plenty of downtime for them to slip in something sweet.
This is exactly what happened during this week’s episode of the hit singing competition after Stefani snagged Kyndal Inskeep during the blind auditions.
Shelton also wanted a chance to get Inskeep on his team, but Stefani thwarted his attempts with a block.
While Shelton playfully joked with Stefani, the cameras caught her saying “I love you” to him to soften the blow.
Fans can catch Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani in action when new episodes of The Voice air Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
