Gwyneth Paltrow’s Thanksgiving Recipes are Painfully Healthy for the Holidays
Gwyneth Paltrow’s eating habits are about as healthy as they come. She is very into healthy meal plans, weighing each food choice carefully and doing whatever it takes to get the most out of her nutritional habits.
Even when the holiday season is upon us, health-conscious Paltrow doesn’t stray from her healthy eating plan, and most likely watches every bite that she puts in her mouth. Most of us tend to fall off the diet wagon when it comes to holidays that revolve around food, such as Thanksgiving — but not Paltrow!
While we find ourselves gaining a few dreaded pounds of holiday weight due to all of the parties and celebrations that go on, she somehow manages to enjoy the time all while maintaining her amazing figure and sticking to her healthy habits. How does she do it?
Well, it turns out that healthy eating during the holidays is not actually that hard when you know which foods to eat and which ones to avoid, as well as how to tweak the recipes a bit. Let’s discuss how Paltrow’s Thanksgiving recipes are painfully healthy for the holidays.
Gwyneth Paltrow took some flak for her out-of-touch health-related suggestions
When it comes to healthy eating, Paltrow goes to the extreme. She helped launch the website Goop and has an amazing number of fans. It is there where she shared some health-related suggestions regarding holiday eating that received mixed reviews.
While Paltrow may have thought that her followers would love what she had to share, some people went so far as to call the suggestions “bland” and “unappetizing,” saying that that they weren’t even something to be considered. It is not often that Paltrow takes flak for anything, let alone her health suggestions, so this may have come as a bit of a surprise.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s three healthy holiday recipes
Paltrow took to Goop to share three of her favorite, healthy holiday recipes, and they are about as nutritious as can be! For those who want to enjoy Thanksgiving in the healthiest way possible, the stunning actress offers clean eating suggestions that include caramelized carrots and shallots with carrot top pesto, grilled radicchio & pear salad, and latke pie.
The first recipe calls for roasting the ingredients at an extremely high temperature, which makes them absolutely delicious. Finish by topping the carrots and shallots with a mix of carrot tops, cilantro and pumpkin seeds.
If you’d like to try Paltrow’s grilled radicchio & pear salad, mix the radicchio and pears with thyme and balsamic vinegar for a treat you’ll love. Finally, the latke pie, which calls for simple ingredients and minimal prep time.
Each of Gwyneth’s recipes is clean, with no dairy or gluten, making them perfect for those who don’t want to sacrifice taste for nutrition this Thanksgiving.
Gwyneth Paltrow’s most extensive Goop Thanksgiving meal plan
It is pretty safe to say that most people enjoy indulging a little over the holidays. Even those who watch what they eat on a regular basis find themselves filling their plates with rich, high-calorie foods, loading their rolls with creamy butter, and having a second slice of sugary pie for dessert.
The surprising fact is Paltrow herself once did the same thing! It was back in the early 2000s that the now extremely health-conscious actress did the same thing. Her table consisted of a celebratory meal of roasted turkey, sweet potatoes with maple syrup, bread stuffing, cranberry chutney, and ice cream with maple whipped cream for dessert.
While our mouths are certainly watering just thinking about it, we need to keep in mind that over the years, Paltrow has definitely upped her health game a bit, so we will be finding more nutritious choices on her menu this year.
