Engaged Or Not, Hannah Brown Is The Best Bachelorette Of All Time
We may or may not have yelled “Queen!” at our screens when Hannah Brown announced she was no longer engaged to, or even dating, Jed Wyatt during the season finale of The Bachelorette. But, of course, we feel for Brown. Having gone through a brutal process only to come out just as single as she was before seems to be a cruel fate. But, Brown coming into her own and refusing to settle for anything less than what she deserves has been the theme of her season. We’re so happy to see that she stayed firm about her expectations thru to the very end. Bachelor Nation has never been more excited, frustrated, invested, or proud of any other lead in the franchise since the show’s inception in 2003. “Hannah Beast” has been the most honest, weird, genuine, and fun bachelorette in the show’s entire tenure.
Season 15 of The Bachelorette
Long-time Bachelor Nation fans can spot when the franchise is setting a contestant up to be the star of the next season. Ever since Brown got booted off of Colton Underwood’s season, it was clear that she would be named the bachelorette. And while a large chunk of Bachelor Nation was bemoaning over the 24-year-old’s inability to make toasts, the rest of us were getting excited about this honest, southern belle who would breathe new life into what can often be a stale show.
Throughout her season, Brown stood up for herself, made her own decisions, called people on their B.S. and dealt with unfair slut-shaming. Along the way, Bachelor Nation has fallen in love with her genuine nature and now don’t want to say goodbye to her. Following her season, many people are even campaigning that she gets a do-over season.
Former cast members by the numbers
Bachelor Nation has also shown their support of Brown by the numbers. At the beginning of the week, Brown had roughly 1.4 million followers on Instagram. Now, post her season finale, she boasts a whopping 2 million followers and counting. Her number have surpassed recent Bachelorettes like Becca Kufrin and Rachel Lindsay who have 1.3 million and 835k followers respectively.
Brown has even has surpassed long-time fan favorite, Kaitlyn Bristowe, who has 1.7 million followers. In fact, the only Bachelorette in history who currently has more followers than Brown is JoJo Fletcher, who boasts 2.2 followers and has spent the last three years growing her fan base with a clothing line, a web series, and a television show.
Bachelor Nation shows their love
Now, this is by no means an attempt to pit women against each other. Rather, it is just one piece of quantitative data that points to how much Brown’s season of The Bachelorette has resonated with Bachelor Nation. But, there’s plenty of qualitative data that supports this argument also. Thousands of fans have flocked to social media to share their unwavering love and support for Brown following her season finale.
“It’s settled you’re the best bach there ever was,” one user wrote. “My favorite bachelorette ever,” another fan exclaimed. “Don’t you feel like the whole show evolved a staggering amount just from this season?!,” one diehard fan wrote. “Hannah Brown, I think your story has empowered SO many women who have settled for less than, abusive or toxic relationships. Go after that life you deserve,” one fan wrote, praising Brown.
From skeptic to stan
Even those who were skeptical of Brown at first have gone out of their way to show their support of the bachelorette. “I am going to be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to watch your season after the Bachelor. BUT I am SO glad I watched your season. I loved your honesty, strength, and self-control. You have grown so much and the public got to watch. You have shown young and old women how to show respect for themselves and be proud of the decisions you make for yourself and use them to learn from. Thank you, Hannah Brown, for a fun, frustrating (Luke P), emotional and empowering season!” one former skeptic wrote.
Despite the way Brown’s season ended, it’s clear that her story really resonated with fans. The bachelorette is a wonderful reminder that we need to hold others and ourselves accountable for what we need and deserve. We wish Brown all the best in her post bachelorette journey, and we know she’ll eventually find the fierce love she’s looking for. And hey, if she finds that with Tyler Cameron, we certainly won’t protest.
