Hannah Brown’s Christmas Plans Involve Pickles And Santa Claus
Hannah Brown has had a wild year. After competing on The Bachelor, becoming the bachelorette, and winning Dancing With The Stars, she’s excited to do some relaxing at home for the holidays. In a recent interview with E! News, the former bachelorette shared some of her family’s traditions and, just like her, they’re quirky and sweet.
“I’m just excited to go back home,” she told E! News at iHeartRadio’s 102.7 KIIS FM 2019 Jingle Ball.
Brown recently went home for Thanksgiving after becoming a Mirrorball champion where she enjoyed some much-deserved rest. After a hectic year, to say the least, it’s no surprise she can’t wait to get back.
Hannah Brown’s Christmas traditions
Brown shared a special holiday tradition that takes place in her parents’ home every year. It involves a pickle ornament.
“We always have a pickle, where you have to find the pickle on the tree. My mom’s really into Christmas ornaments and our tree’s lavish and beautiful. You find the pickle on Christmas day, it’s a whole thing. It’s a pickle ornament,” she explained.
Just because Brown’s old enough to get engaged doesn’t mean she’s too old for Santa Claus. The big guy still comes to the Brown home.
“We still have Santa,” she said. “Santa still comes to my house, you know, if you believe, you will receive. Waking up on Christmas morning and seeing what Santa brought, we still do that… and it’s so fun.”
This year, Brown is on present-wrapping duty. But she’s looking forward to watching holiday movies while she does it.
“Watching those Hallmark Christmas movies while I have to wrap all the presents, because mom has put me in charge of that, that’s pretty fun too,” she shares.
As for the day itself, Brown says her family plays games.
“We usually play games at the end of the night on Christmas, so it’s just a good time,” she said. “It’s one of my favorite times of the year.”
Hannah Brown has a lot to be thankful for
Though Brown certainly experienced her fair share of hardships this year, the former beauty pageant queen says she has a lot to be thankful for, too.
“It really has been truly incredible,” she says of her 2019. “As the bachelorette, getting to go to some of these places and having these experiences that really tested me, and made me feel stronger. [It’s] an accumulation of so many things.”
“Also, winning the Mirror Ball was pretty awesome. I’ve just had an amazing year with a lot of moments that I’ll never forget,” she added.
