Hannah Brown Performs An Emotional Dance About Jed Wyatt Heartbreak On ‘DWTS’

Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette didn’t end how she had hoped. She fell in love with and got engaged to Jed Wyatt, only to discover that he’d come on the show with a girlfriend waiting for him back home. So she ended the relationship.

Shortly after her season ended, Brown joined the cast of this season’s Dancing With The Stars. Fans were hopeful that there’d be a romantic spark between her and her dance partner, but Brown’s repeatedly assured her supporters that she and Alan Bersten are just friends. Recently, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, she said she’s still trying to work through what happened to her on The Bachelorette, so she’s taking a little break from dating.

No, I’m not,” Brown responded when guest host Justin Hartley asked if she’s dating Berseten. “I’m not.”

“We’re great friends. He kind of has to be my best friend. So I make him be. He cries about it. But it has been an amazing experience,” she added before admitting she’s still scarred from her “trauma from dating [on The Bachelorette], so we’re not going to do that right now. We’re going to dance.”

Hannah Brown’s ‘DWTS’ dance about her relationship with Jed Wyatt

Last night, on the semi-finals of Dancing With The Stars, Brown’s worlds collided when she performed a contemporary dance to “Lose You to Love Me” by Selena Gomez about the heartbreak she suffered during her season of The Bachelorette.

Prior to her performance, a video was shown of Bersten teaching Brown the choreography. He told her to use her emotions in the dance, to channel her feelings into the movements. It looked to be an emotional week of rehearsals.

“This whole experience I’ve kind of looked forward and to have to look back on the contemporary was a little tough for me and it was something that was a little hard at the time. So opening up that and all those emotions definitely wore on me. I think it wore on Alan, too. It was a lot. I’m just glad I was able to do that dance to move forward and kind of have that sense of release of all that so I can move on to what’s in store for me in the future,” she told Access after the episode.

Her emotionally charged performance was given three nines.

‘DWTS’ fans think Hannah Brown deserved a higher score for her contemporary dance

In the comments section of the DWTS YouTube video of Brown’s dance, several fans voiced the opinion that the reality star should have received a higher score.

“What does this woman have to do to get a perfect score,” commented one fan.

“They are really underscoring her!!!” wrote another.

“They deserved all 10’s, especially considering how freely all 10’s were given to others tonight who were nowhere near as good!!!” expressed another fan.

“they tell hannah to give it her all and she absolutely did tonight and she didn’t get a single 10 ???” questioned another.

Despite receiving nines across the board, Brown and Bersten are moving onto the finals.

While the duo is excited to move onto the final round of the competition, they’re sad that their time dancing together is coming to an end.

“He had to go through a lot as partner, but I wouldn’t trade it,” Brown told Access.

“I wouldn’t trade it for anything,” Bersten agreed.
