‘BIP’: Did Dylan Barbour Pick the Perfect Ring for Hannah Godwin?

Bachelor in Paradise might be closed for the season, but fans are still fully invested in the couples whose love transcended their time on the beach. One of Bachelor Nation’s favorite couples this season was none other than Dylan Barbour and Hannah Godwin. Though the pair had a rocky start to their relationship (courtesy of Godwin’s attraction to Blake Horstmann) they quickly went all-in on one another and left the beach engaged. The pair now seems to be happier than ever, with future plans to move in together, and Godwin has the bling to prove it. But did Barbour truly pick the perfect ring for his fiancée?

Hannah Godwin’s engagement ring

Godwin’s Neil Lane ring might be one-of-a-kind, but it’s also classic in style. According to People, the main stone is a 2.5-carat cushion cut diamond surrounded by 20 smaller diamonds. Furthermore, the platinum band features an additional 62 diamonds. The diamond-studded band is actually part of the ring that Godwin really enjoys. “I like how it has the dainty band around it with all the little diamonds in it. That’s kind of weird to say! Diamonds! It looks really nice on my hand, so I’m very excited about it,” Godwin said in an interview with Glamour.

Dripping in diamonds

Godwin went on to say that she’s been dreaming about what her engagement ring would look like since she was a little girl. Still, the whole situation is still a little surreal for her at times. “Because when you’re a little girl, you [think], I wonder what my future ring is gonna look like—and my future husband! It’s so cool. It’s more of the meaning behind it. I wake up and I’m like, Okay, I’m gonna put my ring on! This is crazy! And it’s with Dylan,” Godwin confessed.

Did Barbour get help from the Bachelor in Paradise producers

But does Godwin love more than just the dainty band? Or would she have picked out something different for herself? Godwin shared that the ring Barbour proposed with is definitely in line with some of the styles she’s liked in the past. “I had had conversations with one of my main producers on the show, and she had an idea of the type of rings that I like, and I guess she communicated it to Dylan,” the Bachelor in Paradise alum confessed.

Neil Lane weighs in

But whether the Bachelor in Paradise producers clued Barbour in on Godwin’s preference really makes no difference because he actually wasn’t the one who picked out her ring at all. The ring was actually designed especially for Godwin by Neil Lane. He utilized the couple’s unique story to create a ring that would echo their love. In an interview with People, Lane revealed how he crafted the perfect ring for the model.

“This couple has a very traditional love story. Boy meets girl, girl plays hard to get, Dylan wins her over with his charm. Their ring is a classic timeless style — similar to Hannah. She’s an all-American girl raised in the south and it was important for Dylan to win her family over. This ring is symbolic of her traditional background, all American roots and with a major touch of glam — just like her,” Lane shared about the inspiration for Godwin’s ring.

What matters the most

But despite Barbour not picking out Godwin’s ring, he admits that it is what he would have chosen himself. “This is the one I would’ve picked,” Barbour confessed. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter who picked out the ring. The main thing that matters is that Godwin is happy with it and comfortable wearing it, which she definitely seems to be.
