Meeting the in-laws can be one of the most stressful parts of a relationship. For Meghan Markle, she had big shoes to fill in Princess Diana. Though Diana is no longer around, Prince Harry talks about her often and seems to find ways to make sure his mother is always there in spirit.
But what about the rest of Princess Diana’s family? Have they met Markle, yet?
Has Markle met Princess Diana’s family?
The answer is yes. Her family was invited to the royal wedding last May. All three of Diana’s siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Earl Charles Spencer were there. They brought their families with them including, Lady Kitty Spencer, Eliza Spencer, and Louis Spencer.
Markle and Harry wanted Diana’s family to be involved in the ceremony so Fellowes read from Song of Solomon during the wedding. The royal couple was reportedly thrilled at having Diana’s family take part in the nuptials.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel [honored] that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day,” a statement released by the palace before the wedding read.

She also speculated that maybe one of Harry’s cousins or aunts from Diana’s line could be a godparent as well.
Would Diana have liked Markle?
Though Markle never got to meet her mother-in-law, Harry has no doubt that Diana would have loved her.
“They’d be thick as thieves, without question,” Harry told the BBC after their engagement. “I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, so excited for me. But I think she would have been best friends with Meghan.”
Markle has, obviously, gotten to meet the Queen and the two have gotten along swimmingly.
“It’s incredible,” she said of meeting the Queen. “To be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honor and respect for her as Monarch, but with the
And it appears that the Queen’s dogs were quick to fall in love with Markle.
“The corgis took to her straight away,” Harry said in the interview, with Markle adding that the dogs laid at her feet during tea.
