Is it possible that David Schwimmer, the actor who played Ross Geller on Friends is now knocking off convenience stores to make ends meet? The actor recently re-emerged as a recurring character on Will & Grace, but is the actor down on his luck?

A recent video showed someone who looks suspiciously like Schwimmer in mid-crime, stealing none other than a case of beer, Cnet reports. The still images are uncanny, down to the suspect’s “Ross-like” expression of being busted. So is it Schimmer and where is the investigation now?

The crime occurred in England

If Schwimmer is busy working on Will & Grace he either buzzed over to England in between takes to rip off a restaurant or something else is going on. The Blackpool police posted a request for help on Facebook, which has now been removed. The post included the captured image, which immediately caught the public’s attention. The comment section became overwhelmed with joke comments.

Mainly comments included Friends references of Moist Maker sandwiches and “Russ,” Ross’s doppelganger, according to Cnet. Some especially funny ones included: “It’s not been his day, his month or even his year,” CNN reports.  Or “I heard his getaway driver was stuck in 2nd gear.”

Schwimmer is identified

After seeing the post, Schwimmer did more than proclaim his innocence. He went a step further and shot a hilarious video, proving he was in the U.S. “Officers, I swear it wasn’t me. As you can see, I was in New York. To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation,” he tweeted. He included #itwasntme.

Cops clear Schwimmer’s name

Before removing the post, Blackpool police posted this comment. “Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses,” CNN reports. “We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way.” Even Blackpool police shared Schwimmer’s tweet on their Facebook page.

Followers continued to engage with the current post. “Haven’t laughed so much in ages. Total respect to Blackpool Police and David Schwimmer. Absolutely hilarious,” one person commented. And another, in total Friends-speak, “Could he BEEE holding any more beer?”

Another follower had this suggestion for Blackpool police, “Absolutely brilliant. I reckon if they find him David Schwimmer should be allowed to cuff him and read him his rights!” The suspects appears to still be at large.
