Here’s Why Lady Gaga Is in the Hospital in ‘Severe Physical Pain’
Lady Gaga has canceled a performance that was scheduled to take place at the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil on Friday, as she has been hospitalized and is in severe pain.
“Brazil, I’m devastated that I’m not well enough 2 come to Rock In Rio,” she wrote on Twitter today. “I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon.”
In another tweet, Gaga said that she was taken to the hospital and is in “good hands w/ the very best doctors.” On Instagram, she posted a picture of herself in a hospital bed.
Gaga says that her upcoming Netflix documentary Five Foot Two will show what it’s like to live with fibromyalgia.
“In our documentary the #chronicillness #chronicpain I deal w/ is #Fibromyalgia I wish to help raise awareness & connect people who have it,” she said on Twitter.
Gaga also revealed last year that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I suffer from a mental illness — I suffer from PTSD. I’ve never told anyone that before, so here we are,” she said on Today. “But the kindness that’s been shown to me by doctors — as well as my family and my friends — it’s really saved my life. I’ve been searching for ways to heal myself, and I’ve found that kindness is the best way.”
