Caitlyn Jenner is making a return to reality television. However, if you thought the show she just joined was in the United States, think again! She’s headed across the pond and someone who is close to her thinks it has to do with the Kardashians.
What is ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’?
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here is a British reality television series. It has aired in the country since 2002. It has been on the air since 2002. In the competition, the celebrities live in a jungle environment with each other.
They go through challenges where they can get things like more food and additional items for the group. However, they must not get voted out by the greater group.
The show has been redone in several countries, including two iterations that have aired in the United States. The first attempt was in 2003 and the series ran on ABC. Cris Judd won that season. The second run came in 2009 and the series jumped to NBC. That season was won by Lou Diamond Phillips.
Jenner will be taking part in the Brtish version of the show.
Why Caitlyn Jenner could be appearing on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’
Talking with In Touch Weekly, former Kardashian family nanny Pam Behan theorized as to why Caitlyn would do the show.
“I would say this is a move to gain the Kardashian girls’ and ex Kris Jenner’s respect. The whole time I knew [Caitlyn] it seemed like none of them respected [them] that much,” said Behan.
She continued, “I think Caitlyn finally feels she has a say. There might be a little bit of her trying to beat them at their own game too. She is a super nice wonderful person but she is very competitive. But I just think she’s been quiet for so long and wants to tell the world what’s been going on all this time.”
How much Caitlyn Jenner will make from ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’
According to In Touch Weekly, Jenner will get an estimated $670,000 from the show.
Behan says that she believes that there is a reason why she is doing a show like this in the UK and not America. “If Caitlyn had been asked to do a show like that in the United States, I don’t see her accepting that,” she told In Touch.
“If you spend five minutes with Caitlyn you realize this is somebody who accomplishes what she sets out to do. Her transition shows that — this is something she planned all her life and she was determined to make it happen,” she added.
The series will premiere its new season in the UK later this month.
