Here’s Why Adele Could Lose Millions of Dollars Once Her Divorce Is Settled

Adele’s multi-million fortune could be in jeopardy.

The singer just recently announced that she and her husband, Simon Konecki, decided to split after seven years of marriage.

As the former couple moves forward with their divorce, things could get messy when it comes to money.

Once their divorce is finalized, Konecki could possibly walk away with half of everything Adele worked for, especially her hard-earned fortune.

Adele and Simon never signed a prenup

Though Adele and Simon Konecki’s split is still pretty fresh, many sources are claiming that their divorce could take an ugly turn.

According to reports, it is to believe that the couple did not sign a prenup when they got married back in 2011.

If that is the case, Simon Konecki could be entitled to half of Adele’s earnings.

As it turns out, if the couple has plans to file for divorce in California, where they currently reside, the court could rule in favor of Adele and Konecki splitting their assets equally.

“What is made during the marriage is likely to be split on an equal basis,” Sandra Davis, a divorce attorney who represented Diana, Princess of Wales and other notable celebrities, told the U.K. Times. “It doesn’t matter who did what, or who contributed what.”

Though that might be how their divorce ends, there is still a chance Adele could show that her husband had nothing to do with her earnings and he would only receive a fraction of her fortune.

“Adele may be able to claim that her talent is effectively genius, which means her husband would be entitled to significantly less,” family lawyer Suzanne Kingston said.

Konecki’s assets are significantly less than Adele’s

Many lawyers are certain that once Adele and Simon Konecki begin moving forward with their divorce, a good portion of Adele’s fortune could be given to her ex-husband.

Seeing as though Adele is worth a whopping $185 million, there is a chance some of her money could go to her ex-husband, who is worth a lot less.

Simon Konecki has found success since he ultimately founded the company Life Water and its charity partner, drop4drop.

Before starting his company, Konecki maintain a lucrative career as an investment banker Lehman Brothers up until 2005.

From then on, Konecki maintained a comfortable lifestyle and currently has a net worth of $1 million.

The couple has already started splitting their assets

Even though Adele’s fortune could possibly take a hit, the singer has already starting splitting some of her things with her ex-husband.

Before announcing their split, it was confirmed that Adele transferred a three-bedroom home in L.A. suburb of Van Nuys, valued at $650,000 over to Konecki.

As it turns out, that property is registered to Konecki as the headquarters for his water company Mammoth Water Resources.

It has not been revealed what the former couple plans to do with their massive Beverly Hills gated mansion, which is valued between $9.5 million – $13 million.

It remains unclear if Adele will share that property with Konecki as well as split her fortune.

We do know that the former couple has agreed to co-parent their 6-year-old son Angelo and are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he is well taken care of.

We’ll see how Adele and Simon Konecki’s impending divorce plays out in the upcoming months and if the singer’s fortune will be altered.
