Here’s Why Royal Fans Believe Queen Elizabeth Didn’t Approve of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Romance

Prince Harry has had a couple of serious girlfriends over the years, but being in the royal spotlight is certainly difficult. It is for that reason that some of Harry’s relationships didn’t last.

Chelsy Davy, in particular, had an immense amount of trouble handling the pressures that came with dating someone as high-profile as Harry: As their relationship progressed, she suddenly found herself being chased by photographers, and under constant media scrutiny. When Harry met American actress Meghan Markle, the same thing happened once again. It actually got to the point where Harry feared for the safety of his then-girlfriend.

After dating for almost two years, royal fans were thrilled to learn that Harry and Meghan were engaged. It seemed that the prince had found the perfect woman to spend the rest of his life with; however, one very important person seemed to feel differently. Here is why royal fans believe that Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth did not approve of Harry and Meghan’s quick romance.

It is crucial to keep in mind that it is quite possible that Meghan and Harry’s romance seemed quicker than it was. They didn’t go public with their relationship right away, dating in private for quite some time. By the time royal fans found out that the two were together, they were already pretty seriously involved.

Adding to the illusion is the fact that Prince William and Kate Middleton were together for seven years before getting married. This is significantly longer than Harry and Meghan, so in comparison, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made it to the altar in record time.

Although the queen herself has been married to Prince Philip since 1947 — an astonishing amount of time — Queen Elizabeth is no stranger to divorce. Three of her children split from their spouses, as did her sister, Princess Margaret. We all know that the queen likes the royal family to portray a certain image, so after witnessing so many failed marriages, it is no surprise that she decided that was it.

According to some reports, her majesty wants her grandchildren to carefully think over who they are going to marry and to choose a spouse with extreme caution. It is said that she issued this warning to William as well as Harry, and she may have felt that Meghan and Harry did not spend enough time getting to know each other before tying the knot.

Will the queen allow any more royal family members to divorce if they wanted to?

According to the queen: “enough is enough.” She has decided that during her reign, no more members of the royal family will be able to end their marriages. However, it doesn’t appear that she can actually forbid this to happen.

We have to say that we absolutely love all of the current royal couples such as William and Kate and Meghan and Harry. Although they are no strangers to scandal, it is safe to say that their marriages are as strong as can be. What a wonderful thing, because we want all of the royal couples to be together forever.
