Hilary Duff Is Fed Up With the Paparazzi Following Her and Her Kids: Her Son’s Reaction is Heartbreaking
Hilary Duff is no stranger to having paparazzi follow her to get photos, but she’s absolutely fuming about how the paps harass her children. The actress took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the matter and even asked one of her children what it’s been like for him.
Duff addresses the paparazzi issue
During her recent errands, Duff encountered paparazzi following her and her children, son Luca, 7, and daughter Banks, 1. It was all very upsetting for the actress, so she took a moment to share the incident on her Instagram Story.
In the video she posted on Dec. 20, she explained: “Here I am just trying to get around with both my kids and I have paparazzi following me everywhere I go. Two grown men, three actually, one’s running away across the street, just following me and my kids to every location I go to.”
She added: “In a world where women are getting all these rights, this doesn’t seem right to me at all.”
She then turned the camera on Luca to get his heartbreaking reaction, asking: “How much do you like when the paparazzi follows you? Makes you sad, huh? You hate it.” Her son shook his head to show how upsetting it is.
Paparazzi is a problem for many celebrities
Other celebrities have faced similar experiences with being harassed by the paparazzi. In April, actress Scarlett Johansson took aim at the way the paparazzi put people in danger.
At the time, she explained in a statement: “The paparazzi consistently go to increasingly dangerous lengths to stalk and harass the people they are photographing. Even after Princess Diana’s tragic death, the laws were never changed to protect targets from the lawless paparazzi. Many paparazzi have criminal pasts and will perform criminal acts to get their shot.”
Johansson continued: “Yesterday, after leaving the Jimmy Kimmel Show, I was followed by 5 cars full of men with blacked out windows who were running red lights and putting other drivers and pedestrians at risk so they could follow me to find out where I was staying and subsequently stalk me and my young daughter for the duration of my stay.”
Duff and Matthew Koma got married
In happier news, Duff and her longtime love Matthew Koma just got married in a small private ceremony in their backyard on Dec. 21, a source told E! News. Her stylist Jessica Paster also shared an image of what looked like a bridal bouquet on Instagram, captioning it: “Winter solstice… A day of luv.”
Their couple was engaged earlier this year, with Duff sharing in a May Instagram post: “He asked me to be his wife.”
On Father’s Day, Duff shared this touching tribute to her guy, writing: “You are the most natural papa bear I’ve seen. You always put us first. You know exactly what to say. Affectionate beyond. Calm and strong. The kids don’t even know how lucky they are that it’s you… but they will. It’s a gift I get to witness everyday. We love you more than words.”
