Hilary Duff reveals the sweet way her son Luca is helping out at home
Duff seems to have a busy home life, though her son Luca is occasionally capable of pitching in to help.
“[Luca is] super compassionate and understanding of the fact that I’m moving a little slower and don’t have as much energy as normal,” she explains to People. “He’s so helpful. He jumps to help me when something spills in the kitchen and also great with helping me with bags from the car.”
Additionally, Luca seems to understand how to deal with big emotions coming from Banks, who is 2 years old.
Duff adds, “He’s also explaining things to Banks when she doesn’t understand what’s going on or she doesn’t get her way. I notice when she’s acting like a 2-year-old, he’s extra patient with her and begins to sound like me or Matt when he talks to her in an effort to help out or soothe Banks.”
However, she shares that Luca is excited to have another younger sibling and that he hopes for Duff to give birth on a weekday so he could have a day off from school.
Hilary Duff recently wrote a children’s book
On March 23, Duff’s children’s book, My Little Brave Girl, was published. The book was written to encourage young girls out there to take risks and dream big.
“This is a book, a little bit about like dipping your toe in or leaning in and diving in headfirst and taking chances and the beauty that comes with taking those brave steps,” Duff told GMA. “I hope it touches many families and stays in bedrooms and is read to many generations of kids.”
It was inspired by Banks, whom Duff realized had to deal with some difficult circumstances at a young age. She explained, “All of a sudden, I started working 16 hour days again and just like that left her, you know, with someone else. And I was just thinking like, how brave she has to be. You know the girls really have to be brave in so many ways.”
