How Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne Met and Fell In Love
Like many Hollywood couples, Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne crossed paths on set. Back in 2018, they worked together on Alex Ross Perry’s drama, Her Smell. The film featured Benson as Roxie Rotten, Delevingne as Crassie Cassie, and Elisabeth Moss as Becky Something. The two lovebirds were in a band called Akergirls while Moss was in a different one, Something She.
The film follows the journey of Moss’ band as it navigates the fine line of success and failure. As the group begins to get the fame and recognition they’ve been striving for, everything starts falling apart at the hands of Moss’ character. The reason? Her selfish and self-destructive behavior. The film was just released this April and has since snagged six nominations and two awards.
Fans weren’t sure if Benson and Delevingne were dating
Now, back to the cute couple. Of course, these two ladies began spending tons of time together last year. Many people thought it was just because they built a strong bond on set. Their closeness raised flags with some fans, while others dismissed their physical affections as nothing more than a close female friendship.
For instance, during Memorial Day weekend, pics of them holding hands began making the rounds on the internet. ‘Fan Camp A’ believed it was standard chick camaraderie while ‘Fan Camp B was sure it signified something much more intimate. News flash: ‘Camp B’ was right! On May 28th, the Her Smell alums were spotted carrying a sex bench into the home they are thought to share. To say that Twitter went crazy is a major understatement!
While they were super private about their dating life for quite a long time, they recently took a massive step in their relationship.
Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne are married
You read that right! These two beautiful ladies reportedly said “I do” and are now wife and wife. According to a news report, Benson and Delevingne tied the knot on August 3rd in a small ceremony. Following the likes of superstars Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, the actresses opted to get married in a Las Vegas chapel. The officiator? None other than an Elvis Presley impersonator!
Benson & Delevingne dressed in beautiful black outfits and said their vows in front of an A-list crew. Some attendees reportedly included Charlize Theron, the Jonas Brothers, and of course Turner.
“They were sure about what they are doing and they were sure about what they mean to each other. They were clearly devoted to each other and they had the biggest smiles on their faces. You could see that they were serious about what they were doing but having the most fun. They wanted it simple, quiet and easy.” Michael Kelly (Chapel Owner) / The Sun.
Their marriage came less than a month after they officially confirmed their relationship status during PRIDE month.
Cara Delevingne opens up to ‘Marie Claire’
Benson and Delevingne have been very private about their relationship, but after June they have slowly gotten more and more comfortable with sharing their love with the world. In an interview with Marie Claire, the actress and model shed light on the relationship. According to her, neither of them were searching for a relationship. It just happened, making it one of the most authentic and natural unions ever.
While this is one of the few times Delevingne has opened her heart to the world, it isn’t the only time. Take a look at this sweet shout out she made for Benson during her speech at the Trevor Live Gala.
“I also have another very special woman in this room to thank and you know who you are,” she, referring to Ashley. “She’s one of the people who help me love myself when I needed it most and I really needed it. She showed me what real love is and how to accept it, which is a lot harder than I thought. I love you, Sprinkles.” Cara Delevingne
Honestly, these two have the sweetest relationship and serve as a beautiful representation of the LGBTQ community in Hollywood. Hopefully, their love lasts forever.
