How Badly Do People Want ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Canceled?

Keeping Up With the Kardashians has just joined Duck DynastyOsbournes Reloaded, and Joanie Loves Chachi as some of the worst TV shows ever made. In fact, a lot of people say the reality show that made Kim, Khloe, Kris, and Kylie household names is the one they hate the most. How badly do viewers wish to stop viewing KUWTK? The answer may surprise you.

Since its inception on the E! network in 2007, Keeping Up With the Kardashians has given viewers a behind-the-scenes peek at an uber privileged Los Angeles family that seems to have little if any grasp of the real world at all.

Who are the Kardashians?

Kristen Mary “Kris” Houghton married the late Kardashian patriarch, Robert, in 1978. Together, they produced four children. Kourtney was born in 1979, and daughters Kim and Khloe were born in 1980 and 1984, respectively. The only Kardashian son, Rob, arrived in 1987. Kris and Robert called it quits in 1991, before the world knew their name.

The Kardashians are famous and infamous

Robert Kardashian was the first of the family to achieve worldwide notoriety. He managed to do so by representing disgraced football hero, OJ Simpson, as he stood trial for the brutal murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman in the mid-90s. By the time of the Simpson trial, Robert and Kris Kardashian had been divorced for a few years, and she had remarried.

The man who took the senior Kardashian’s place in the household was an Olympic track star named Bruce Jenner. The couple had two kids together. Daughter Kendall was born in 1995, and youngest daughter, Kylie, arrived in 1997. Today, Bruce goes by the name Caitlyn, but that’s not the reason everyone wants Keeping Up With the Kardashianstaken off the air.

In 2003, Kardashian dad Robert was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and perished a few weeks later. That’s when the Kardashian girls started to ramp up their public appearances. First, it was Kim who worked as a personal stylist to musician Brandy Norwood who just so happened to be the sister of her boyfriend, Ray J. Shortly after breaking up with Ray, Kim expanded her professional reach by becoming a personal shopper and stylist for wild child actress Lindsay Lohan. Around that time, she also got involved in a romantic relationship with musician, Nick Lachey.

Kim’s private life revealed

The combination of a leaked sex tape with Ray and a brief dating period with Lachey sealed Kim’s status as a celebrity. Many people credit the leaked sex tape as the only reason Kim is famous today.

It is unknown who leaked the private sex tape that was purchased by Vivid Entertainment for around $1 million. Once Kim got wind of the deal, she successfully sued and settled for a purported $5 million, and Vivid retained ownership of Kim Kardashian: Superstar.

If the above paragraphs made you roll your eyes, or if reading about the travails of Kim and the rest practically put you to sleep, you’re not alone. The Kardashians are not the big entertainers they tout themselves to be, and people are finally catching on.

Further, the Kardashians are everywhere in the headlines for the smallest things, and people are just tired of them. Their show has been on for over a decade, which is plenty for most people.

Ranker recently published a poll that asked which shows people most hated, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians came up -not surprisingly- in the #1 spot.

Other shows hated by Ranker pollsters include The Real Housewives franchise, including shows made in New Jersey and Beverly Hills. Dr. PhilSwamp PeopleBig BrotherDance Moms, and The Bachelor also made Ranker’s dreaded list of despised TV shows.
