How Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Celebrated Her 51st Birthday
Happy (belated) Birthday, Gwen Stefani!
The “Luxurious” crooner celebrated her 51st birthday on Oct. 3, receiving a trove of celebratory messages from fans and peers alike. Blake Shelton was among those who publicly sent birthday wishes, but that wasn’t all. Here’s more on Stefani’s big day and how she and Shelton celebrated.
Blake Shelton did a sweet thing for Gwen Stefani on her 51st birthday
Taking to Instagram on Oct. 3, Shelton first kicked things off with a tribute to Stefani, whom he began dating in 2015 after meeting her on the singing competition show The Voice.
He shared a photo that showed him strumming an acoustic guitar in a cornfield as Stefani smiled and leaned into him. Captioning the image, Shelton wrote, “It’s a special day for a special lady in my life. Happy birthday @gwenstefani, I’d write a song for you every single day if I could…”
Taking it a step further, he also surprised the “Just a Girl” singer with a bright-colored bouquet of flowers. Stefani appeared to love the birthday surprise, as she showed off and gushed over the floral arrangement on her own Instagram page. “Thank u for all the bday wishes! gx,” she added in a separate Instagram post.
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have also been celebrating another milestone together
Aside from Stefani’s birthday, she and Shelton have been celebrating their new home. In May, Variety reported that the couple had bought a house together in Encino, California. Us Weekly confirmed in September that they had moved in and that “they are very happy to be settled at last in their family home.”
Before that, they had been hunkered down at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ravaged the world. Amid the crisis, Stefani said in a preview for The Voice that she was having a “magical” time with Shelton and her three sons because “we don’t ever have that much solid time together” (via Entertainment Tonight).
“We did do a lot of fun stuff,” she continued. “We did a lot of cooking. I learned how to make sourdough bread like everybody else; it took me like a month to get the starter right. We did so much stuff. We built a garden. We planted zinnias. I mean, we planted thousands of zinnia flowers. It was a lot of stuff that you dream about doing that you never have time to do.”
Chiming in, Shelton also seemed elated as he detailed other family quarantine experiences, including making jam. “There was so many (peaches), and there was nothing else to do, we got online and we learned how to make jam,” he explained. “And we made like cases of peach jam. I’ll probably never do that again, but now I know how to do it.”
Although it’s undoubtedly a tough time in the world, it sounds like Stefani and Shelton have found ways to make the most of it. Happy Birthday again, Gwen!
