How Can You Win Dinner With Ian Somerhalder From ‘The Vampire Diaries?’
Dining with a vampire likely sounds like a bad idea. But dining with an actor who played smoldering vampire, Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries probably sounds like heaven.
Since The Vampire Diaries ended, star Ian Somerhalder has donated a huge chunk of time to support his favorite causes. He created The Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF), designed to “provides public outreach, education, and grants in support of Creatures, Environment, Youth, and Grassroots initiatives.,” according to the site.
Part of Somerhalder’s initiatives involves sustainable living, which includes consumables. As a way to generate awareness and donate to the cause close to his heart, Somerhalder decided to host a fun culinary contest.
Enter to win dinner and wine tasting
Somerhalder alerted Instagram followers of the contest. “Come hang with me. Click the link in BIO! Share this. Like this. @isfofficial needs you and so do I. Enter now! This is a great gift to! I’ll fly you and a friend to hang out with me in California! Lovvvvvvvvvve, Ian,” he wrote.
According to the fundraising site, two lucky winners are in for a serious treat. “You’ve seen Ian Somerhalder play a vampire. You’ve seen him rescue animals. But now you’re about to see him like never before… in person! That’s right—you and a friend will join Ian Somerhalder in California for great food and wine, all while surrounded by great people.”
“You’ll meet up at one of his favorite vineyards, taste some delicious wine, learn about all the necessary steps that lead to the glass you’re sipping on and maybe even stomp on some grapes yourself!” It isn’t all about wine either. “Not a fan of wine? No worries! Think of this as quality time with Ian in his element. And to round out the day of swirling and sipping, Ian will take you to a mouth-watering dinner at a restaurant he loves. It’ll be
grape great. Flights and hotel included.”
Somerhalder knows a ‘little’ about wine
Wine tasting with a Somerhalder will be highly educational. The actor turned activist recently launched his own brand, which rolled out in China. He posted a photo pouring a glass. “My wine. I’ve named it Dark ll Dawn or D2D. It’s launching literally right now TODAY in China! I’m so proud of this wine.”
He wrote that the labor of love took over 3 years, 90 blends and countless hours of work and travel to make it happen. “Let your friends in China know that we are in the marketplace and to grab this up,” he penned. “We Only have a few thousand cases of it and it will go fast!” Somerhalder adds that he partnered with VIK, a sustainable winemaker to make his dream come true.
Somerhalder added, “Remember- this is a YOUNG wine, it’s a 2017. It’s beautiful, but like all things in life, it’s needs to breathe a bit. Give it 15 minutes minimum after opening it!”
Entering the contest is easy
Somerhalder made the contest easy so many people can enter to win. Donate as little as $10 to Somerhalder’s foundation to earn 100 entries. For the maxmium amount, contestants can donate $1,000 for 10,000 entries.
