How Chris Harrison Thinks ‘The Bachelor’ Has Changed The Game of Love
The Bachelor has, historically, been a polarizing show. Some people watch because they believe in the show’s process of finding love, some watch because it’s the epitome of an indulgent trash reality series, and others watch because it’s a unique social experiment unlike anything else on TV.
Whatever a viewer’s reasons are for watching, one thing each and every member of Bachelor Nation can agree on is that it’s, at the very least, wildly entertaining.
How Chris Harrison thinks ‘The Bachelor’ has changed the game of love
The show’s host, Chris Harrison, has been known to go to bat for The Bachelor and how the show has helped countless couples find love.
He also feels the show’s allowed viewers to peek behind the curtain and see what it is men and women really want.
“I don’t know if we can take full credit but I do think we have helped evolve the modern man, to teach him how a woman wants to be treated,” he told E! News. “I think we have helped men and women kind of get to know each other and break down that wall where we never used to communicate. Things that needed to be said and no one ever really wanted to talk about. Guys want to talk about feelings, too, sometimes.”
He went on to talk about how “even the manliest of men” need reassurance and to be heard.
That being said, Harrison does feel a game show setting is an all too appropriate place to find love.
“Love is as much of a competition as anything,” he said. “If you don’t think so, you’re either losing the game or you’re not playing.”
Chris Harrison’s dating history
Ever since his divorce back in 2012, Harrison has had to get back on the saddle and become a bachelor himself once again.
The transition back into single life, at first, proved to be less than natural for Harrison.
“I would love to say I’m that guy who sleeps around, but I’m just not,” he reveals. “That’s not my thing. I tried. I’m not good at it. It’s exhausting,” he said.
He also told E! News that he was shocked at the amount of texting modern-day dating requires.
Chris Harrison’s current girlfriend
For now, Harrison’s done attempting to play the field.
“Harrison has found a girl of his own. And it’s Entertainment Tonight correspondent Lauren Zima,” we’ve previously reported on The Cheat Sheet.
“The two made their public debut this weekend at ET’s pre-SAG Awards party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, California.
The entertainment hosts have reportedly been dating for months but this is the first time that they have walked a red carpet together.”
