How Close Is Liam Hemsworth to His Older Brother, Chris Hemsworth?
One of the most attractive trios in Hollywood, the Hemsworth brothers, are a true anomaly in the entertainment world. The three brothers, all born and raised in the beautiful land of Australia, all live peaceful, drama-free lives, have happy families, and remain very close to each other.
Liam Hemsworth, the youngest of the three, is especially close to Chris Hemsworth, the middle brother, who is six years Liam’s senior.
Chris Hemsworth’s red-hot career
Out of all the Hemsworth brothers, Chris Hemsworth undoubtedly has experienced the most success in his career. After a few small film roles in the mid-2000s, he landed the role of a lifetime when he was cast as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Interestingly enough, Chris Hemsworth had auditioned opposite his younger brother Liam Hemsworth for the role, ultimately winning out due to his burst of sibling rivalry, which gave him the needed push to take his final audition to the next level.
In addition to his many films as the character of Thor, Chris Hemsworth has appeared in high-octane films like Bad Times at the El Royale, Ghostbusters, Blackhat, and Rush. He will also be appearing the reboot of the popular Men in Black film series, due out in summer 2019.
What has Liam Hemsworth done?
Liam Hemsworth has enjoyed a very successful film career in spite of his relatively young age. He has appeared in films such as The Hunger Games series, which made him a certified teen heartthrob, The Last Song, The Expendables 2, and Independence Day: Resurgence.
Hemsworth has also been a consistent fixture in the tabloids over the past ten years due to his on-again, off-again relationship with music star Miley Cyrus. After multiple makeups and breakups, Hemsworth and Cyrus tied the knot in late 2018, in a private ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.
Recently, Liam Hemsworth opened up about his relationship with Miley Cyrus and how often he speaks to his older brother, Chris.
How close are the two brothers?
In his interview with GQ, Liam Hemsworth gave some insight into his life growing up in Australia with a large, tight-knit family and a whole fleet of dogs. He admits that while the family is so spread out that they don’t get together as often as they would like, there’s one particular relative that he turns to frequently for advice or insight.
He claimed that Chris Hemsworth is his “hero,” and that if he isn’t sure about a job or a script, he calls his brother to ask his opinion.
Hemsworth also talked about his new wife Miley Cyrus, who reportedly gets along beautifully with the entire Hemsworth clan. He revealed that being married to Cyrus feels like a deeper, more connected version of what their relationship was prior to being married – and likely that being together for so long before making things official really helped to seal the deal.
As to whether or not there could be any babies in Hemsworth and Cyrus’s future, the young actor stayed mum – but some reports suggest that neither partner is in a hurry to start a family and that, for now, they are enjoying being aunt and uncle to Chris Hemsworth’s kids with his wife Elsa Pataky.
There is undoubtedly a bright future ahead for each one of the Hemsworth brothers (including the oldest brother, Luke), but if there’s one constant that the siblings can all count on, it’s each other. In the busy, tumultuous world of Hollywood, it is surely a relief for the brothers to be able to call on each other for advice, support, and reassurance.
