How Did Channing Tatum and Jessie J Meet?
Fans of Channing Tatum have closely followed the Magic Mike star’s love life for years. When he split with wife, Jenna Dewan after nine years of marriage, fangirls everywhere drew a hopeful breath.
Is it possible that Channing Tatum was back on the market? Tatum, however, started dating again pretty soon after his split with Dewan was made public.
Channing Tatum was married before dating Jessie J
Tatum and wife Jenna Dewan have long been media darlings. Their love life, plastered across tabloid magazines and social media throughout the nine years of their marriage has long been the stuff dreams are made of.
Their relationship was based on a deep-rooted friendship and was enviable. Their picture-perfect marriage resulted in the birth of their beloved six-year-old daughter Everly, of whom they share custody. They split time with her during the week and alternate weekends and holidays.
The news of their divorce really shocked fans. In all appearances the two were wildly in love and super supportive of each other. Jenna posted promotional shots of her husband’s Magic Mike performances and seemed to be really in tune with his career goals. In fact, it seems that their divorce was completed with totally amicable terms.
“There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision.” Tatum and Dewan wrote about their divorce, “…just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”
How did Tatum and Jessie J meet?
The couple has been extremely private about their relationship. Only a few telltale flirtatious Instagram posts have given them away.
So, it remains unclear how the couple met. US Weekly reported that they may have first crossed paths in 2015 when Jessie J and Mark Wahlberg presented Tatum with an award at the MTV Movie Awards. Channing and Jessie shared an on-stage hug during the award ceremony.
Other reports confirmed that the two were spotted in October of 2018 attending each other’s shows. Channing went to Jessie J’s shows in Seattle while she attended his Magic Mike Live performances.
Later, they were seen by fans mini-golfing as their relationship evolved. Sources say they were taking things slowly and casually.
Tatum and Jessie’s current relationship status: content
When asked about their relationship the pair typically refuse to comment. Although they have been more public recently on Instagram about their feelings for one another and their relationship, they still keep things to themselves. (Unless you count Tatum’s recent steamy, shower photo on Instagram.)
They like things to remain low-key and private. However, when pressed, Jessie recently told reporters that she’s feeling very content.
“I am just very content with my life.” She says, “Everyone deserves happiness.”
Is Jessie J the one?
There have been numerous rumors that Tatum plans to propose to Jessie J. Most of these have been debunked. However, they’ve recently been photographed in more romantic situations than before and have gone on holiday together.
Tatum has also taken the opportunity to introduce Jessie to his daughter. It seems the pair is starting to get a little more serious. They still insist that they will be taking things slowly.
“We’ve needed time to get to know each other. We’ve just had our first holiday together, which was wonderful, but that’s all I’m saying…,” Jessie has said.
Fans will have to wait and see how their relationship pans out, but it looks like the couple is well on their way to happily ever after. Or at least, happy for right now.
