The reality star pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion. He has to serve eight months in prison, 500 hours of community service, pay $123,913 in restitution and a fine of $10,000.

Sorrentino will also not be allowed to open new bank accounts. That possibly includes a joint bank account with his new wife, Lauren Pesce.

He surrendered himself on Jan. 15, 2019 and is serving time at FCI Otisville, a medium security prison about 2-hours north of New York City. He made a video beforehand on Instagram Live in a car and said, “The comeback is always greater than the setback” according to E! News.

“The Situation will reveal himself in 2019,” he also said. “He is currently under construction…He’s under new management right now.”

He is reportedly planning to release a prison tell-all

When celebrities go to prison they typically release a book about it. So it’s probably not surprising that there are reports that Sorrentino already plans on releasing a prison tell-all book.

A source claimed that he has been taking notes in prison and keeping a diary every day, according to Radar Online. The book reportedly won’t be a dark one, which gives a little insight into his time in prison.

Some details made it into the news about his time behind bars. In Touch Weekly reported that he hired another inmate to be his personal chef. Also, he reportedly spends a lot of his time working out and watching TV.

It turns out his Jersey Shore cast members have been keeping in touch with him. One of them has revealed what prison has been like for Sorrentino.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi said prison is like a senior home for Sorrentino

Polizzi opened up about staying in touch with Sorrentino while he’s been in prison. She actually told E! News that he’s “having the time of his life.

She also shed a little light into his new routine. “It’s like he’s in a senior home, he’s playing Bingo, he’s helping people recover in jail,” the reality star said.

The TV host continued, “We all talk to him through an email, so I talk to him like once a week. He’s in the gym a lot, so he’s probably gonna come out ripped. You know, he’s not gonna be BDS anymore–Big Daddy Sitch–he’s gonna have his, probably, six-pack again. But he’s doing…he’s doing good in there.”

All the reports make it seem like Sorrentino’s time in prison has been smooth. Fans will be able to find out more after he’s released.
