How Many ‘Flip or Flop’ Spinoffs Are There?
Flip or Flop returns for an all-new season on August 1. The show, which premiered in 2013, made Tarek El Moussa and his wife Christina El Moussa (now Christina Anstead) stars. And it kicked off a flurry of home flipping shows on HGTV. These days, it seems that there’s a Flip or Flop for almost every city in the country.
There have been four ‘Flip or Flop’ spinoffs
So far, there have been at least four direct spin-offs from Flip or Flop. Things kicked off in 2017 with Flip or Flop Vegas, Flip or Flop Atlanta, and Flip or Flop Fort Worth. Flip or Flop Nashville arrived in 2018.
While Flip or Flop Fort Worth only lasted one season, the other Flip or Flop spinoffs have been more successful. Season 3 of Flip or Flop Vegas, which stars Bristol and Aubrey Marunde, aired this spring while Season 2 of Flip or Flop Nashville with exes-turned-business-partners DeRon Jenkins and Page Turner premiered in January 2019. New episodes of Flip or Flop Atlanta with Ken and Anita Corsini last aired in 2018. While there’s been no word yet on when any of those shows might come back to TV, chances are viewers will see new episodes for all or some of those shows in the near future.
‘Christina on the Coast’ and ‘Flipping 101’
In addition to new Flip or Flop franchises in other cities, the original stars of the show have also branched out. First came Flip or Flop Follow-Up, where Tarek and Christina looked back on some of their most memorable flips.
Then, in 2019, Christina — now divorced from Tarek and married with a baby on the way — got her own show, Christina on the Coast. The show follows her new life with husband Ant Anstead and her booming design business.
Not to be outdone, her ex Tarek also landed his own show. Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa will feature the real estate expert as he coaches would-be flippers and teaches them the secrets of how to successfully flip a home. The 14-episode series will premiere in 2020.
HGTV’s other house flipping shows
Aside from the Flip or Flop franchise, HGTV has several other house flipping shows. Desert Flippers follows Eric and Lindsey Bennett, a couple who flip home in Palm Springs, California. Flipping Virgins with Egypt Sherrod followed first-time flippers as they attempted to make a killing in real estate. In 2018, All-Star Flip chronicled the house-flipping efforts of NBA star Dwayne Wade and actress Gabrielle Union. Other house flipping shows on the network have included Beach Flip, Flipping the Block, My Flipping Family, Vintage Flip, and Masters of Flip.
A new season of Flip or Flop premieres Thursday, August 1 at 9/8c on HGTV.
