How Much Does Hulu Cost? This Is Why You Should Subscribe on Cyber Monday
If you’ve been on the fence about whether to subscribe to Hulu, now is the time to act. Through the end of Cyber Monday 2018, you can get an entire year of the streaming TV service for just 99 cents a month. Here’s what you need to know about this subscription deal, plus how much you’ll have to pay for Hulu if you miss out on the special discount.
Hulu’s Cyber Monday sale
Hulu’s Cyber Monday sale is a great deal for anyone who enjoys streaming TV. For just 99 cents a month, or a little less than $12 a year, you’ll get 365 days of Hulu’s limited commercials plan. You can cancel anytime you like. If you use cash-back website Ebates, you can get an extra $5 back when you subscribe.
What kind of content do you get for $1 a month? A whole lot. You get access to Hulu’s streaming library, including new episodes of hit shows like This Is Us, Black-ish, and Empire, as well as Hulu Originals like the Emmy-winning The Handmaid’s Tale. Plus, you can stream entire seasons of classic shows like Full House, Malcolm in the Middle, Golden Girls, and Desperate Housewives.
Hulu’s movie library isn’t as deep as its TV library, but you’ll still get access to more than 1,500 films, including titles like Fences, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Star Trek Beyond, and Heathers.
How much does a Hulu subscription normally cost?
The 99-cent sale is a very good deal. Normally, you’d pay $7.99 a month for the limited commercial plan, or about $96 a year. In other words, jumping on the Hulu Cyber Monday deal saves you $84 a year.
A no-commercials plan is also available for $11.99 a month, or $144 a year. (Warning: Even if you pay extra for the no-commercials plan, you’ll still have to watch commercials with certain shows.)
Hulu also has a live TV plan. For $39.99 a month, you can watch live TV on more than 50 channels on Android, iOS, Roku, Fire TV, and other devices. Channels include FX, Bravo, Lifetime, ESPN, and CNN. The live TV plan also comes with access to the Hulu streaming library.
The cost of Hulu add-ons
You can enhance your Hulu experience with add-ons (for a fee, of course). Limited-commercial subscribers can add HBO for $14.99 a month, Starz for $8.99 a month, Cinemax for $9.99 a month, and Showtime for $10.99 a month.
If you’re a live TV subscriber, you can get enhanced cloud DVR and unlimited screens, each for $14.99 a month. (With the limited commercial plan, you can connect your account to as many devices as you like, but you can only stream content on one screen at a time.)
With your live TV plan, you can also add an entertainment package with five additional channels, including Lifetime Movies, DIY Network, and the Cooking Channel, for $7.99 a month. A Spanish-language add-on with CNN en Español, ESPN Deportes, History Channel en Español, and Universo is $4.99 a month.
Is Hulu worth it?
For just 99 cents a month, Hulu’s Cyber Monday sale is a pretty good deal, especially if you want to catch up on current network TV shows. It also has a number of shows you can’t find on Netflix, including 30 Rock, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and Seinfeld. With such a low price and a solid lineup of shows, we think it’s worth it.
You have until 11:59 p.m. ET on November 26, 2018, to get Hulu’s Cyber Monday deal.
