How Much Kate and Pippa Middleton’s Former London Home is Selling For
Have you ever wanted to live in the same place where an actual duchess and her sister once did? Well here’s your chance because the London apartment Kate and Pippa Middleton used to call home is on the market. However, it will cost you.
Yes, the flat where the Duchess of Cambridge and her sibling used to live has just been put up for sale and it can be yours for a pretty hefty price.
How much the apartment is selling for?
The women’s parents, Carole and Mike Middleton, have decided to list the property their daughters shared up until Kate married William in 2011 because well, the sisters don’t have any use for it anymore.
Pippa and her husband, James Matthews, now live in a five-story, six-bedroom, stucco-fronted, $20 million London mansion. The couple recently spent an extra $1.5 million on renovations to add two separate dressing rooms with a “vanity basin” off the master suite, as well as a new air conditioning system, and a nursery for their little one.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge lives in another apartment now, which is slightly larger than her last one. She and Prince William live with their three children in Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A. The residence within the London palace has 22-rooms with multiple floors and has undergone $4.2 million in renovations and counting.
So yeah, the women have no need for that other apartment.
The Sunday Times noted that their former flat has been listed for £1,950,000 or almost $2.5 million USD. The Middletons originally purchased the property back in 2002 for £780,000 or just over $986,000. That means they could make a profit of more than $1 million off it.
What you’ll get for that price
According to the listing on the website Knight Frank, the apartment has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a “reception room.” The photos on the site show the space nicely decorated with lots of white and beige furnishings.
The unit is three stories and located in London’s Chelsea neighborhood.
The website boasts that it’s “Found on a favorable part of the Old Church Street, this charming three bedroom, upper floor maisonette provides a peaceful, light and spacious home. The flat is accessed on the first floor and there is an internal flight of stairs which leads up to the second floor, comprising of a double reception room, kitchen and guest W/C.
“On the third floor there is a master en suite with a picturesque view onto Justice walk and over the chimney pots of Old Chelsea. There are also two further bedrooms and a family bathroom on this level. The front of the building faces east to west, providing lovely morning light and this continues throughout the day, as the sun beams through the reception room into the afternoon. The property is presentable but still allows an incoming buyer scope to put their own stamp on the property.”
