Here’s how much money Ariel Winter is paid for Modern Family.

How much the Modern Family parents are paid

The show’s TV parents are paid a slightly higher salary than the TV kids. After contract negotiation in 2016, Ed O’Neill, Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofi Vergara were paid roughly $500,000 an episode in addition to backend earnings, reports Deadline. This is up from their previous salary of $350,000 per episode.

The tough road to getting a Hollywood pay raise

The Modern Family cast had to fight for higher salaries. Back in 2012, some of the cast members sued producer 20th Century Fox over salary disputes. Representatives for Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara met with 20th TV chairmen Gary Newman and Dana Walden in addition to a representative from ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Actor Ed O’Neill later joined his cast mates in the lawsuit to show his support.

The youngest cast members of Modern Family are earning a nice salary. Ariel Winter recently received a salary bump for her appearance on the hit show. She is reportedly making more than $100,000 per episode, according to The New York Daily News.

What Ariel Winter was paid before her pay raise

After negotiations back in 2012, the four youngest actors were each earning roughly $70,000 reports Deadline. Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, and Sofia Vergara negotiated their salaries together that year, and earned roughly $170,000 to 180,000 per episode. Ed O’Neill was making about $100,000 per episode in addition to back-end earnings. This was a big bump from their previous per-episode salary of $65,000.

Although Winter makes a decent salary, one of her cast mates surpasses her quite a bit. In 2018, Forbes named Sofia Vergara the highest-paid TV actress. She earned an impressive $42.5 million that year. It was the seventh year in a row the actress has risen to the top of this list. Vergara makes 73% more than The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco, who earned $24.5 million last year. Cuoco took the No. 2 spot on Forbes’ list of highest-paid actresses.

Another TV show with high cast salaries

One of the highest-paid TV actors is on the cast of The Big Bang Theory. In 2018, Forbes named Jim Parsons the highest-paid TV actor. He earned $26.5 million that year. This is partly because of his high salary from The Big Bang Theory. Parsons made $1 million per episode ($24 million per season) in 2017. However, he and his fellow cast mates later took a $100,000 annual pay cut so that co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch could earn higher salaries. As of 2019, Jim Parsons has a net worth of $80 million.
