How Much Time Does President Donald Trump Spend With His Grandchildren?
Donald Trump has nine grandchildren. But he is such a busy man, especially nowadays, how much quality time does he really get to spend with all of them?
The president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., has five children: Kai, Donald Trump III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe. His daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, have three: Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore. And, Eric and Lara Trump are parents to one son named Luke. Now that their grandfather is running the county, do the kids get to see him much?
Sacrificing time with family?
Trump’s oldest grandchild, Kai, was seen alongside her grandpop many times during his presidential campaign. The little girl was with him at the official opening event for his Trump Turnberry Resort golf course in Scotland back in June 2016. Trump then drove her around in a golf cart to tour the course with him and she was all smiles.
After the election, when it came time for the president to ink his first bill he made it a family affair and had each of his grandkids gathered around his desk to witness him sign his Cabinet nominations into law.
But in May 2017, Donald Trump Jr. expressed on social media that his kids don’t get as much time as they used to with their grandfather given all his new responsibilities and duties.
“Throwback Thursday of Grandpa @realdonaldtrump with his granddaughters Kai and Chloe back in his old office,” Trump Jr. wrote. “They miss being able to just drop in on him… it used to be a lot easier to come by to say hi.”
Which grandkids he gets to spend the most time with
Ivanka Trump’s children though have had a little more access to their granddad because their mom is his senior advisor so she works so closely with the president every day.
Ivanka has even shared a number of photos of her dad and her kids together on Instagram. One year after the election, she shared a picture of Arabella smiling on her grandfather’s lap.
“November 8, 10:52am: In the car on the way to cast our vote for Grandpa!; November 8, 8:44pm: Watching the election results roll in; November 9, 1:26am: @realdonaldtrump, Jared, Stephen Miller and I working on the victory speech; November 9, 2:52am: Victory!” Ivanka wrote reflecting on the night her father won, before adding, “It’s been an incredible year. I’m as proud of my father’s commitment to and passion for our great country today as I was exactly a year ago!”
Both Arabella and her brother, Joseph, have also been photographed boarding and exiting Marine One with the president several times and have accompanied him to many events including one in South Carolina at Boeing. The kids also travel with him to Mar-a-Lago in Florida as well as the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
