After months of speculation, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra finally made things official and have taken their relationship to the next level as they traveled to India to meet the actress’ mother.
In early June, Jonas brought the Quantico star to his cousin’s wedding in New Jersey where she met his family. “It’s a huge deal that Nick brought Priyanka to his cousin’s wedding,” a source told People. “He’s dated a lot over the last couple years but it’s never been anything serious, so this is a big step.” And, this past weekend, it was his turn to meet Chopra’s family.
The pair flew to her native India where he was introduced to her mom, Madhu, as well as some of her other family and friends. Madhu, however, said she’s not quite sure how she feels about her daughter’s new beau yet.
“We just went out for dinner where Nick was present. But it was a large group,” Chopra’s mother explained. “There were 10-odd people, so I didn’t get the time to know him that well. I’ve met him for the first time, so it’s too early to form an opinion.”
Jonas and Chopra were first linked to one another after they showed up at last year’s Met Gala together. At the time, they explained that they were “just friends” and went to the event with one another because they were each wearing the same designer. Fast forward to Memorial Day weekend 2018 and they were spotted out again taking in a concert at the Hollywood Bowl and attending a Los Angeles Dodgers game.
The two were seen having dinner as well at Toca Madera in West Hollywood, California. A source inside the restaurant said that they got there around 8 p.m. and were “very affectionate with one another, with Priyanka running her hands through his hair as they cozied up together at their corner table in the garden patio. They were cute and seemed to be enjoying each other’s company, laughing and smiling.”
It wasn’t all alone time though, the two also spent some time that weekend cuddling up aboard a yacht with a few of their famous friends including Wilmer Valderrama, Chord Overstreet, and Glen Powell.
Once the photos of them together surfaced online romance rumors were reignited. The duo then started getting pretty flirty appearing in one another’s Instagram comments and complimenting each other on their looks.
After meeting her family though Jonas decided it was time to make things Instagram official and posted a brief video of Chopra smiling and walking towards him on a balcony. The “Jealous” singer captioned it “Her” with a heart-eye emoji. This confirmation delighted their fans after the months of everyone guessing if they really were an item.
So, now that we know for sure that they’re a couple we can’t wait for them to start popping up more and more in one another’s Instagram stories.
