How Old Was ‘Riverdale’ and ‘90210’ Actor Luke Perry When He Died and Does He Have Any Children?

Luke Perry’s name has come up a lot over the past several months as people were wondering if he was going to be a part of the Beverly Hills, 90210
According to TMZ, paramedics were called to the Riverdale star’s home on Wednesday morning and he was taken to a local hospital. Since this news broke, fans have had plenty of questions about the actor including how old he is and if he has any children. Here are the answers to those questions and whether or not Perry will star in the 90210 revival.
How old is Perry?
The actor was born Coy Luther Perry III in Mansfield, Ohio, on October 11, 1966, making him just 52 years old when he suffered the stroke. Perry was raised in Fredericktown, Ohio by his mother who was a homemaker and his father who was a steelworker.
After he graduated high school, Perry decided to pursue a career in acting. He had parts on daytime soap operas in the late ’80s before he auditioned for 90210. He initially tried out for the role of Steve Sanders but was cast as Dylan McKay instead.
Over the years, Perry has starred and been featured in several other TV shows and films including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Jeremiah, The Heist, The Sandlot: Heading Home, 8 Seconds, Redemption Road, and The Fifth Element.
Today, he has an estimated net worth of $10 million.
Does he have any children?
Their first child, a son named Jack, was born on June 15, 1997. He is a wrestler known by the ring name “Jungle Boy” Nate Coy.
Perry and Sharp also have a daughter named Sophie. She was born on
June 7, 2000.
Will he be in the 90210 reboot?
Perry has not been involved with the upcoming 90210 reboot. He currently plays Frederick “Fred” Andrews in the CW drama Riverdale and a production source previously told Entertainment Tonight that scheduling conflicts wouldn’t allow him to have any large part in the reboot.
“At this time, due to his current deal with Riverdale, Luke Perry could only guest star on a potential 90210 reboot, and could not be a series regular,” the source said.
Perry shot to fame playing Dylan on the original 90210, which aired on Fox for 10 seasons from 1990 to 2000. He left the series after Season 6 to take on other roles but returned as his beloved character in Season 9. His co-stars Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, and Brian Austin Green were the only actors to appear during the show’s entire run. The series was created by Darren Star and produced by Aaron Spelling and focused on the lives of students attending West Beverly Hills High School.
