How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Getting Their House Ready for the Baby
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child, and the world could not be more excited for the arrival of baby Sussex. Getting ready for a new baby is exhilarating. There are clothes and furniture to buy, not to mention all of the baby accessories, such as toys, baby bottles, car seats, and much more. While Meghan and Harry will be gifted many of these items from friends, family members, and other well-wishers, there is one other thing on the top of their list of priorities: getting their new house ready for the baby.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making big changes
Meghan and Harry recently announced their plans to move to Frogmore Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle. So, what is the couple doing to get their new home ready for a baby? While most people who are expecting a bundle of joy simply paint the nursery pink or blue, Meghan and Harry are going well beyond that in their £3 million (almost $4 million) renovations!
Meghan is very hands-on with the project and is talking to designers about the addition of fireplaces, staircases, and even a floating floor. The couple also plans to add a yoga studio to the home, as well as new walls, elaborate new landscaping, and security gates for privacy and protection.
Frogmore Cottage is in dire need of rehabilitation, so Meghan and Harry’s plans to renovate come at the perfect time. Although many new features will be added, the couple plans to leave the original floorboards and shutters. However, they plan to install a fancy new energy unit to provide heat, water, and electricity. There will be plenty of room for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to visit their new cousin.
Will Meghan Markle’s mom help care for the baby?
As most royal fans know, Meghan is extremely close to her mother, Doria Ragland. Meghan, who has taken on many new roles in recent years, such as girlfriend to a prince, royal bride, Duchess of Sussex, and now mother-to-be, will want her mum by her side when the baby arrives. It is likely that Doria will be making a move across the pond to assist her daughter and son-in-law with their new arrival. With 10 bedrooms at Meghan and Harry’s magnificent new home, there is more than enough space for the new grandmother to stay with the family and be involved in the life of her first grandchild.
When will Meghan and Harry welcome the new royal baby?
While the world has been speculating about the arrival of the new baby, Meghan recently revealed that she is six months along in her pregnancy and is expected to give birth in late April or early May. While greeting fans in the town of Birkenhead, Meghan was asked questions regarding her pregnancy and told the crowds that she and Harry did not know if they were having a boy or a girl. The couple wants to be surprised by the gender when he or she arrives. They plan on having their baby in the town of Windsor rather than in London. They are reportedly considering options that include either a home birth or a hospital closer to Frogmore Cottage.
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, along with William and Kate, and of course, the Queen, are all said to be thrilled with the arrival of Meghan and Harry’s first child. Congratulations to the family!
