How Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Planning to Run Away From Constant Criticism

The 2019 calendar year has not been an easy year for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The royal couple welcomed their son, Archie Harrison, in May. In spite of that joyous event, the two have faced nothing but intense public scrutiny ever since.

From Markle’s Wimbledon scandal to claims that Prince Harry is a “fake activist” for flying in private jets while preaching the importance of climate awareness, it seems as though they have received a massive amount of negativity and criticism. Still, a new report claims that Markle and her husband have a plan in place to get away from the spotlight, at least for a little while.

Historically, Prince Harry has been one of the most beloved people in the royal family. The public and press have enjoyed a very special relationship with Prince Harry, especially since the untimely death of his mother: Princess Diana. While he has made mistakes in the past, and even earned a well-deserved reputation as a bit of a prankster, Prince Harry always ultimately emerged unscathed. However, since his May 2018 marriage to Markle, his public persona has definitely taken a hit.

The press has gone after the couple for nearly everything that they try to do, including, most recently, their environmental efforts. They are both very committed to speaking out about environmental issues, and regularly offer up their opinion on how people can live a more “green” lifestyle. However, their actions haven’t always aligned with their words in the weeks of late, and when Prince Harry took several private jets in a matter of a few weeks, it was the last straw for many members of the public and press.

While some of the couple’s friends have spoken out in defense of Prince Harry and Markle — including Elton John and Ellen Degeneres — many feel as though it won’t be enough to salvage their reputation or popularity.

Meghan Markle is not well-liked in England

Compounding all of the problems that Prince Harry is facing in the media is the fact that Markle is not a well-liked person, neither in England nor the United States. While she does have defenders, including a roster of very loyal celebrity friends, hundreds more attack her on social media and in the press on a daily basis.

Some reports claim that Markle is having a really hard time adjusting to the constant stream of negative coverage. While the Duchess of Sussex isn’t formally allowed by royal etiquette to defend herself to the public, one news outlet claims that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are considering getting away from it all very soon.

Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry going to move?

Markle is still officially on maternity leave. But, in the fall, the royal couple will be making their first overseas trip as a family when they head to Africa for a series of engagements designed to raise awareness of charitable organizations there. It’s no secret how special the country of Africa is to Prince Harry and Markle: In fact, Prince Harry has claimed that he only really feels like himself there. If a new report is to be believed, the couple could be considering making their home there permanently.

Page Six reports that due to the overwhelmingly negative media attention that both Prince Harry and Markle are receiving, the two are considering moving to Africa permanently. The report also states that the couple is causing some serious upheaval within the royal family — and that Prince William, Queen Elizabeth II, and the palace staff are all on board with this relocation.

Whether or not the report is true remains to be seen. It is likely that more will be revealed when Prince Harry and Markle embark on their trip to Africa in a matter of weeks.
