When ripping-fast NASCAR driver Danica Patrick and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers went public with their love affair as 2017 came to a close, sports fans began to wonder if the couple would stand the test of time. Are Danica and Aaron serious enough to get married? The answer may surprise you.

Shortly after Patrick and Rodgers publicly confirmed their relationship, Danica had a heart-to-heart talk with USA Today. Sitting with sports reporter Graham Bensinger at her Napa Valley estate, Patrick revealed what it was like to date the famous football star.

Danica said that dating a man who would pick up the tab for dinner was a first. Noting her initial discomfort with that sort of situation, she eventually relished the notion that her date was willing and able to pay for meals and other expenses. Now, she is comfortable enough to let her boyfriend pay for “almost everything.”

Patrick went on to delineate a few things that she appreciates about her favorite gridiron hero. For starters, Rodgers is open-minded. In an early encounter, the raven haired race car pilot asked Rodgers if he were stalking her on the astral plane. That Aaron even had an inkling of what she meant left a lasting impression on Danica.

When Rodgers was awarded the biggest contract in NFL history, Danica was there to celebrate with an oh-so rare bottle of Armand de Brignac champagne. Not only did she present her sweetheart with a bottle of bubbly more commonly known as Ace of Spades, she had the label personalized. A gift of wine that cost more than $300 is a rather good indicator of seriousness.

CBS Sports claims that an even surer indication of Danica’s dedication to Aaron is the fact that she switched her fan allegiance from the Chicago Bears to her boyfriend’s Wisconsin-based football team, the Green Bay Packers.

What Aaron says about Danica

Typically reserved, Rodgers isn’t shy about his affection and admiration for Patrick. In an interview with Artful Living, the 34-year-old football star described his relationship with the retired NASCAR driver as “doubly awesome.”

Aaron exclaimed that traveling with Danica to Africa and India was “a blast” and that the pair plan to see a lot more of the world together. He said that laid-back, low-maintenance Danica is an excellent chef who inspires him to eat more healthfully.

How they got together

Danica and Aaron met for the first time at the 2012 ESPY awards show in Los Angeles, but other relationships precluded the pair from becoming a couple at the time.

In 2017, Danica and Aaron each extricated themselves from other romantic relationships. According to US magazine, Patrick broke it off with fellow NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse after dating for five years. Around the same time, Rodgers ended his relationship with Iron Man 2 actress Olivia Munn. Whether the breakups were a direct result of Danica and Aaron’s budding attraction is anyone’s guess, but neither of them stayed single for long.

Wedding bells and babies for Aaron and Danica?

In the EPIX documentary, Danica, Patrick revealed that she had some of her eggs frozen, because she really wants to have kids someday. Does Aaron? According to Hollywood Life, one of the reasons the handsome athlete called things off with Olivia Munn was the fact that he was in “more of a hurry” to have babies than she was.

So far, no engagement has been announced, but Aaron has spent a significant amount of time with Danica’s parents. In many relationships, hanging out with mom and dad is a big step toward marriage, so it appears that anything could happen.
