How did the Season 5 midseason finale end?

The midseason finale was full of bombshell revelations. Asher (Matt McGorry) was revealed to be the mole and had turned on the rest of the Keating 5. He tried to get the rest of the group to turn on Annalise (Viola Davis) as well.

They weren’t too enthused and Asher turned up dead by the end of the episode. Also, we can’t forget that by the end of the episode, Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) is back and apparently he’s alive!

As seen in the previously-revealed flash-forwards, Connor (Jack Falahee) and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) were taken into custody. By the midseason finale, we know that they were being questioned about Asher’s death.

Here’s what Jack Falahee says about what happens next

The actor told TV Line, “He doesn’t deal with it well, When we come back in April, it picks up almost immediately after [Connor has been arrested]. His parents show up. They get involved and learn about his alleged crimes, and they have a lot to say about it.”

While Falahee couldn’t exactly reveal super specifics, he did say that Connor is “very worried about Michaela, because they’ve been kept separate from each other in custody.”

So what will happen to Connor and Michaela? Will they get deals? It seems like they will, but there will be some differences. Falahee explained, “I can say that they’re offered plea deals. Whether or not it’s the same plea deal, I can’t say. But for Connor, he’s been the one in the group who’s tried to get out, and it never happened. And now that it’s all crashing down, he’s dealing with it very poorly.”

How to Get Away With Murder picks back up on April 5, 2020, and will finish its final season. The series finale will air on May 14, 2020.
