Inside Dwayne Johnson and Lauren Hashian’s Secret Wedding
Another day, another surprise celebrity wedding.
“We do,” Johnson captioned two romantic wedding photos with Hashian. “August 18, 2019. Hawaii. Pōmaikaʻi (blessed).”
While the two have not commented much on the ceremony, there are still a few details about it out there. Grab a tissue (or ten), and let’s discuss Johnson and Hashian’s secret wedding.
Johnson and Hashian tied the knot on an island
Johnson and Hashian swapped nuptials in an intimate ceremony in Hawaii. Following Hawaiian tradition, the Hobbs & Shaw actor wore several leis, which are said to be symbols of love and respect. He also sported a white shirt with matching pants.
Hashian, on the other hand, dazzled in a white, floor-length gown with lace accents for the big day. According to Page Six, designer Mira Zwillinger created the dress, which retails for $12,540.
They kissed on the shore of the island, with the beautiful Hawaiian sunset behind them.
More on Johnson and Hashian’s relationship
CNN reports that these lovebirds began dating in 2007 after meeting the previous year. They share two daughters: Jasmine, 3, and Tiana, 16 months. Johnson also has an 18-year-old daughter named Simone, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Dany Garcia. Johnson and Garcia were married from 1997 to 2007.
Though they just made it official, Johnson has been calling Hashian his wife for ages. “I just refer to her as my wife all the time,” he told Entertainment Tonight in July of 2018. “So a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did you get married?'” he continued. “I’m like, ‘No. Easy. Don’t rush big daddy.'”
They actually did have plans to marry in 2018, though. However, they had to postpone the ceremony after Hashian became pregnant with Tiana.
“We were going to get married in the spring and we got pregnant,” Johnson explained to ET in April of 2018. “Lauren felt like, well, you know, mama [doesn’t want] to take pictures being pregnant in a wedding dress, so we’re just going to wait and not quite sure when, but I know it’s going to happen.”
The reactions to their wedding will warm your heart
As you can imagine, thousands of people flocked to Johnson’s Instagram to congratulate the wrestler-turned-actor on his marriage, including Nick Jonas and Mindy Kaling.
“Amazing!!! Congrats you two,” Kate Hudson wrote, adding a series of warm emojis.
Ryan Reynolds also chimed in, posting a trove of celebratory emojis.
As of writing, the full guest list is still unclear. However, we do know at least one person who showed up. Hiram Garcia, who is Johnson’s close friend and the president of his production company, wrote on Instagram that he got to watch the sweet ceremony go down.
“Massive congrats to my brotha @therock and his glowing bride/best friend @laurenhashianofficial. It was an honor to be there for your big day. Cheers for years!!” Garcia wrote.
Indeed. We wish them the best!
