Unfortunately, you won’t be able to catch up with Ralphie and the gang through your Netflix subscription. However, if you’re eager to see Ralphie’s dad receive a very “FRAGILE” fishnet stocking lamp to display in the window or Flick get his tongue stuck on a frozen pole, there are a few other ways to watch the classic film.

How to watch ‘A Christmas Story’ on TV

Even though you won’t be able to watch A Christmas Story on Netflix, that doesn’t mean you have to survive the Christmas season without watching it. If you have a cable subscription, then you can stream A Christmas Story on TBS or TNT or with your DirectTV subscription.

See the ‘Christmas Story’ musical at your own risk

You know a movie is iconic when someone decides to remake it into a musical. In 2017, the live musical version of the Christmas classic left television audiences split between whether it was a huge success or giant disaster. Fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions, mostly in the form of complaints.

Our best advice? Skip the musical number and opt for the real version, especially if you’re short on time and can’t watch both.

Here’s what you didn’t know about ‘A Christmas Story’

You’ve probably seen the movie hundreds of times, but did you know that Jack Nicholson almost played the role of Ralphie’s father? He was interested in the part after reading the script, but producers ultimately decided they couldn’t afford him.

Also, actor Peter Billingsley (Ralphie) still has a pink bunny suit and BB gun. The glasses that get broken in the movie when he “shoots his eye out” were his real spectacles. Really warms your heart, doesn’t it?
