Is Andy Cohen Already Ready to Have More Kids?
Bravo producer Andy Cohen is living a dream come true. The new father recently welcomed his son Benjamin to the Cohen family and seems to be completely blissed out.
On February 4, Cohen shared the wonderful news on his Instagram. “WOW! This is my son, Benjamin Allen Cohen. He is 9 lbs 2 ounces !! 20 inches !! Born at 6:35 pm, PT. He is named after my grandfather Ben Allen. I’m in love.”
He was completely smitten as he flew home with his newborn son. Plus Cohen posted the sweetest picture holding his baby’s tiny hand. “Heaven,” he wrote. Cohen appears to be a natural already, which begs the question: does he want more kids?
Sleep…not so much
Like many new parents Cohen told the team at The Today Show about how much sleep he’s getting as a new dad. An exhausted but happy Cohen joined the morning show via FaceTime.
He said it hasn’t quite hit that he’s the dad of an adorable son. “I sit and stare at him,” Cohen says. “I can’t get over his head of hair. He’s adorable you guys, he’s so cute.” In fact Cohen says the minute after his son was born the two just stared at each other and the baby was even touching Cohen’s face.
Al Roker asked Cohen how he is sleeping. Cohen replied, “I was never sleeping but I just wasn’t sleeping for different reasons,” Cohen said. “Now I kinda feel like, ‘Oh, these are the reasons I shouldn’t be sleeping!’”
Kelly Ripa shares this hilarious story about the bris
One of Cohen’s closest friends, Kelly Ripa shared that she met Cohen’s baby. “The whole thing is amazing,” she gushed on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “He had his bris yesterday, a Jewish ceremony where they perform a
Ripa was apparently in charge of recording the blessed event. “He [Cohen] was sort of directing me,” Ripa said making hand gestures. “He’s like ‘move ‘that way, move that way.’ As I moved over and over, Lou who was sitting at the table next to the
In order to get the best shot, Ripa continued to move the camera to the left, not really paying attention but only to get a clean shot of the baby’s face. “But I also got a clean shot of everything that happened,” she says as the audience laughs. Co-host Ryan Seacrest quips, “At least it was a clean shot.”
More kids for Cohen?
Now that Cohen is getting a true taste of parenthood, a few people have already asked if he’s ready for more. He initially told Nene Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta why he didn’t just go for twins. “I thought about it a lot and I just decided I would rather get really good at having one kid and then see if I could have another one,” Bravo’s The Daily Dish reports. “It seemed like a little too much for me.”
But what about a brother or sister? “You know what, Tamra, I grew up with a sister and two parents … my parents were always around; it was a very nice upbringing in the suburbs of St. Louis and I loved being able to hang out with my sister,” he recently told Tamra Judge during his baby shower. “We were like a little team. So the answer is I’m really praying that I have the strength and fortitude to do it again.”
Pal John Mayer and Leakes also asked Cohen about baby number two. “I would like to,” he said. “I would like to, but I don’t know if I’ll have the strength to do it.” He adds that he hopes he can pull it off again.
