Is Angelina Jolie Married?

If you’ve been paying attention to rumors that Angelina Jolie is making plans for a French wedding with an uber-wealthy Brit, forget them.

More than one tabloid has falsely announced an upcoming marriage for the Maleficent star, and none of them are correct. Here’s what’s really going on:

Bogus reports to ignore

A recent Life & Style magazine cover story proposed the outlandish idea that thrice-married Jolie was about to tie the knot with a mystery man at Chateau Miraval, her home in France where she exchanged vows with Thelma and Louise actor Brad Pitt back in 2014. The bogus tipster who supplied L&S with the story offered details that were close enough to truth to be believable. But they weren’t, so investigative reporters at Gossip Cop went to work to refute -or confirm- the story.

According to Gossip Cop’s insider source, the L&S story is “100 percent not true” and Jolie is, in fact, focusing on her career while raising six kids as a single mom. Interestingly, Gossip Cop busted the same tabloid back in October for touting rumors that Jolie was romantically involved with Jennifer Aniston’s estranged husband, Justin Theroux. If it were true, it would be the second time that the raven-haired actress became intimately involved with someone the Friends star was married to. But, it wasn’t.

A penchant for co-stars (and her mom’s boyfriend)

Angelina Jolie Voight was born into an acting oriented family in Los Angeles on June 4, 1975. Jolie evinced an interest in following her actor parents’ footsteps at a young age. When she was just 11 years old, Jolie was admitted to the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in West Hollywood. As a teen, Jolie spent time in Manhattan where she studied various aspects of film making at New York University before returning to Los Angeles and hooking up with the Met Theatre Group.

In 2009, the UK Daily Mail previewed the contents of a new book by Andrew Morton in which the author claimed that Jolie bedded her mother’s live-in boyfriend when she was just 16 years old. According to the unauthorized biography, when Jolie confessed the affair to her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, it ruined their relationship forever. Bertrand passed away in 2007 due to complications of ovarian cancer. She was 56 years old.

By 1993, Jolie was making her way up the Hollywood ladder to stardom. She made an uncredited appearance in a Lemonheads video, “It’s About Time” and acted in several short films, as well.

During the filming of Hackers, Jolie became entangled with her co-star, Jonny Lee Miller. The on-set affair ultimately led to the sultry actress’ first marriage in March 1996. Three years later, Jolie called off the marriage and filed for divorce.

She did not remain unattached for long, however. The same year Jolie split with Miller, she met Slingblade star, Billy Bob Thornton, on the set of Pushing Tin. At the time, Thornton was engaged to Laura Dern and Jolie was dating her Playing God costar, Timothy Hutton. Jolie and Thornton called off their respective relationships and married in Las Vegas on May 5, 2000. The couple adopted a child from Cambodia in 2002, but the marriage ended in 2003.

The following year, Jolie fell for yet another co-star, Brad Pitt, on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Each denied romantic involvement at the time, but paparazzi pics blew the secret and Pitt’s then-wife, Jennifer Aniston, filed for divorce. Pitt and Jolie were married in France on August 23, 2014.

Is Angelina married to anyone at the moment?

Yes and no. Although the couple dubbed ‘Brangelina’ made a very public split in September 2016 and have not lived together since, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still legally married.
