Is Beyoncé Doing a Las Vegas Residency?

At this point, it might seem like there’s not a thing Beyoncé hasn’t done. She’s released all kinds of music, met a princess, collaborated with the biggest artists, and ventured into many businesses. But believe it or not, there’s at least one thing that the Lemonade crooner has yet to mark off her checklist: a Las Vegas residency.

But could that be about to change? A new report says that Beyoncé is secretly preparing for the gig. Though she has not directly commented on the rumors, some sources say that they’re totally true.

Here’s a closer look at the report, and what Bey’s reps have to say about it.

More on the report about Beyoncé’s rumored Las Vegas residency

On Dec. 7, the entertainment website Love B Scott reported that the “Diva” singer is gearing up to do a series of shows in Las Vegas.

“Sources” told the outlet that the gig would make Beyoncé “the highest-paid entertainer in the city” and that Bey intends to make an official announcement during the first half of 2020.

As you can imagine, the news had fans freaking out.

One man tweeted that he’s “fully prepared to spend $3,000 [on tickets].” He continued, “I will do anything to get front row. This is it y’all. This is not a drill.”

Some fans said that a residency makes perfect sense, considering that Beyonce has young children who could benefit from stability.

“This is perfect for her,” one person wrote.

“she’s a mother of 3, she’s nearing her 40s…. the most logical thing for her and her family is to still perform every day but also [take] care of her kids and her body,” another person tweeted. “touring can be exhausting af so whether she really does it or not, i’ll support her.”

Others, however, weren’t so convinced that the report was true.

“I don’t believe this,” tweeted one woman.

“Beyoncé would never do this lmao nope, never,” commented another.

Is Beyoncé really doing a Las Vegas residency?

We hate to break it to you, but Beyoncé’s representative has pushed back on the report. On Dec. 8, her spokesperson told Variety that it’s “absolutely not true.”

Could this be an attempt to keep the secret? Maybe. But for now, you’ll just have to take the rep’s word for it.

But Beyoncé has performed in Las Vegas in the past. In 2009, she released the video album, “I Am… Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas,” which was recorded during a leg of her “I Am…” world tour.

It’s unclear what Beyoncé is working on, as of writing. Her most recent musical release is 2019’s The Gift, the soundtrack of The Lion King, in which she starred as Nala.

Before that, she released Homecoming: The Live Album, which includes songs from her headlining performance at Coachella in 2018.

She hasn’t released a solo project with fresh material since 2016’s Lemonade, a critically-acclaimed album that earned Beyoncé a Peabody Award and a Grammy nomination for album of the year.
