Is Chadwick Boseman in a Relationship?

Since his Black Panther success, everyone has been wanting to know more about the man behind the mask, Chadwick Boseman.

Where did he come from, what was he doing before the movie, and most importantly, who is he dating?

Love life

Unfortunately, Boseman’s dating history is pretty unclear. In March of 2018, he was seen out and about with singer Taylor Simone Ledward quite a bit. They even attended the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles together.

At the time, rumors were swirling that the two had more than just a friendship between them. Some reports suggested that the pair could have even been together for as long as a year.

The only confirmation of their relationship has been an Instagram comment from Ledward’s sister.

When a fan commented on a picture of Boseman and his Black Panther costar Lupita Nyong’o expressing how she wished the two were a couple, Ledward’s sister responded.

“His real life queen is gorgeous, and together they embody true love,” she wrote. “Not to mention they would make some beautiful babies!”

Later in the year, he was also seen holding hands with an unnamed woman. The woman in the photo was wearing a hat and sunglasses, though, so its hard to pinpoint who she was.

Other than that, Boseman has been very secretive about who he spends his time with.

Career history

Though we don’t know much about Boseman’s love life, his fame and talent are no secret.

The actor got his start on the small screen. In the early to mid-2000s, he landed guest roles on shows like Third Watch and CSI:NY

He even had a small stint on the soap opera All My Children. In 2005, he also performed in the audio version of Upstate, a novel by Kalisha Buckhanon.

In 2008, Boseman struck gold when he landed a role on ABC’s Lincoln Heights as Nathaniel Ray. The actor held onto his recurring role for the last two seasons of the show. While on Lincoln Heights, he also appeared on ERLie to MeThe Glades, and Cold Case.

The same year that he landed the Lincoln Heights role, Boseman also made his way into film. He appeared in The Express, a sports biopic set in the civil rights area.

In 2010, he played the role of Graham McNair on NBC’s Persons Unkown. The next year, he guest starred in a number of shows, including JustifiedDetroit 1-8-7Fringe, and Castle.

Boseman caught his big break when he landed the role of Jackie Robinson in the film 42.

“I’m overwhelmed by it,” Boseman said to MadameNoire about the role. “It’s just a huge responsibility. I wake up every morning, been working and prepping on it, and I’m having the time of my life, playing baseball … studying footage. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime to just do what I love.”

Shortly after 42, the actor landed the role of James Brown in the 2014 film Get On Up.

Initially, Boseman didn’t want to play Brown.

“I just didn’t think there was any point in trying,” he told The Guardian. “I was like, ‘What’s next? Gimme something else.’ He’s too big an icon, and I’d just played one [in 42]. And in my mind, I didn’t know how you would even approach those dance moves.”

But he eventually took the role and the film grossed over $30 million.

In 2016, fans got their first taste of Boseman as T’Challa, the black panther, in Captain America: Civil War and in 2018 he reprised the role in Black Panther.
