Is Jeff Goldblum Single? Find Out Who the Actor Is Dating
With over thirty years of experience in Hollywood, Jeff Goldblum has an illustrious career. The Jurassic Park actor may not often make the gossip magazines, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t curious about his life. Is he dating anyone? Keep reading to find out who Goldblum spends his time with.
Jeff Goldblum’s Sweetheart
Goldblum is married to former Olympic gymnast Emilie Livingston. The couple met the way any other normal couple would meet and at exactly the kind of place you’d expect an Olympian to be hanging out: at the gym. Goldblum told Wired in a video interview: “We were at Equinox on Sunset Boulevard. I saw her from across the crowded room and I marched up to her, entranced, and began some kind of conversation.”
Although there’s a thirty year age difference — Goldblum is 66 and his wife is 36 — Goldblum says she has him “intoxicated with ecstasy.” They married at the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles, in 2014, and they now share two children: Charlie Ocean, three years old, and River Joe, two years old.
Jeff Goldblum has a family of his own
In his 60s with two small children, Goldblum told iNews that he’s glad he waited until later in life to start a family. “I’m glad I waited,” he said. “It feels great to do it right now, because all the things I’m considering are perfectly suited to the big questions and challenges of having kids, and what you really want to expose them to. What you want to leave them with, what life is, and what kind of life you can contribute to them.”
However, he did confess that he thinks about his own mortality a lot. “Well, I keep doing the math, and keep extrapolating where they’re going to be, and where I’m going to be. And when I buy a watch, I wonder who’s going to get the watch,” he said.
Jeff Goldblum’s previous marriages
This is the first marriage for Livingston, but Goldblum has been married twice before. His first wife was his Silverado co-star Patricia Gaul. They were married for six years, before divorcing in 1986.
Then, Goldblum met actress Geena Davis on the set of the horror-comedy Transylvania 6-500. At the time, the media called them “Hollywood’s Most Adorable Couple.” Goldblum once described the moment he first met Davis: “I’m sitting there watching the dailies and Ed Begley Jr. comes into the screening room with this stunning, this gorgeous girl, gorgeously shy. He starts to introduce her to everyone in the room clockwise. I’m last, and by the time they get to me I’m thinking, ‘Unnh, ahh, oh, this is bad, this is awful, I really like this woman and she’s not going to like me. How can I ever make her like me?”
But Davis did like Goldblum, although they had some difficulty expressing that to each other at first. Davis explained: “For some reason I decided that Jeff liked me only because he thought I was cool, aloof, and he thought the same thing about me. Finally, he takes me out to dinner one night, all serious, and I’m thinking, ‘Uh-oh, I knew this was coming,’ and he says, ‘We can’t see each other anymore. I really like you, and you don’t like me.’ So I say, ‘No, I really like you, too,’ and that was it,” Davis said. “I have this idea about people in your life. I think you recognize them, that they’re right for you. I recognized Jeff.”
Unfortunately, Davis and Goldblum’s marriage only lasted three years and was already over by 1990. But, the destruction of that relationship made way for Goldblum to meet his current wife, Livingston, and have the beautiful family that he’s raising today. Sometimes life works in mysterious ways.
