Is Jeff Lewis Planning on Having Another Child?
Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward have split but are co-parenting their daughter, Monroe together. Lewis gave an update about their co-parenting and revealed whether he plans to ever have a kid again. Find out his plans and more.
Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward broke up in January
The Flipping Out couple broke up back in January. Lewis announced it on his radio show, Jeff Lewis Live that Edward moved out of their home and that their daughter will be living with the radio host.
“This has been a long time coming. We were in separate rooms a significant portion of last year, so it was kind of like a roommate situation,” he said.
He also said, “I think the reason we hadn’t ripped the Band-Aid off and separated is because a) we had the baby and neither one of us want to leave the baby and then b) financially, it wasn’t the best time because I have four properties right now — three of which are in construction and one of which is sellable.”
They both have reportedly been moving on. That includes figuring out how to co-parent.
Lewis said that they need a schedule moving forward
It sounds like the former couple was kind of winging it instead of having a former schedule of who gets their daughter. Lewis talked about needing to change that.
“I did say to Gage yesterday, moving forward, we need to have some sort of schedule,” he said on Jeff Lewis Live according to Page Six. “I said, ‘I know that our schedules change weekly, but how about Sundays we go over the week ahead of time?’ I don’t necessarily want to be there when he’s there all the time.”
Lewis went on to say how often Edward was coming over wasn’t going to work anymore. His solution was to sit down and make a plan.
“So I said, ‘Let’s go over the week. We’ll go over when you want to see [Monroe]. When I want to see her,’” continued the radio host. “I said, ‘You’re not coming over twice a day anymore. That’s just not realistic.’ I’m not saying he cannot see her twice a day but, for example, I go to New York today. He’s going to stay at the house for four days. So he’s got her for four straight days.”
Although many former couples work through attorneys, they will be doing this on their own. “I don’t think we need attorneys at this point,” Lewis said according to Us Weekly. “He understands that we need some kind of structure.”
Lewis said the next child he has will be by himself
It sounds like the house flipper is still thinking about growing his family. However, next time he will do things differently.
According to People, he said on his show, “the next [child] is by myself. The next one is by myself.” He didn’t go much further into why but perhaps co-parenting with Edward influenced his decision.
It’s unknown when he plans to have another child. He also hasn’t really given an update on his love life.
