Is Jill Duggar Pregnant? Some ‘Counting On’ Fans Are Convinced She’s Expecting
Last week, Jill Duggar Dillard told her Instagram followers that she has “exciting news!!!” Naturally, many people thought that could only mean one thing: She was expecting. After all, when the Duggars have big news, it often means a baby is on the way.
But Jill had another kind of announcement. Instead of revealing that she was pregnant, she shared that she and her husband Derick were about to move into their brand-new home, which they’d built from the ground up. But that news didn’t stop some fans from speculating that Jill and Derick are also planning on expanding their family.
Some people think Baby No. 3 is on the way
When Jill share her news on Instagram, several people commented that they were expecting a pregnancy announcement. And though Jill hasn’t said anything publicly about more kids (she and Derick already have two sons, Samuel and Israel), others are convinced that Baby No. 3 could be coming soon.
While Jill didn’t share too many specific details about her new home — like the number of bedrooms — several commenters on Instagram pointed out that a move to a different house might mean the couple was making room for a new addition. “New house! New baby?!?” wrote one person. “Make sure it’s big enough for more kids!” teased another.
On Derick’s Instagram, one fan came straight out and asked, “Is Jill pregnant again? :)” But the 30-year-old law student seemed to squash those rumors with his cheeky response, writing “I’ll ask her.” Jill chimed in too, replying to her husband with the crying laughing emoji followed by the punching fist emoji.
But that didn’t stop another person from asking, “are yall planning on a baby any time soon?” Those questions might be bold, but they aren’t so surprising. After all, when you’re from a family of 19 kids, pregnancy rumors can be hard to shake.
Are Jill and Derick done having kids?
Jill comes from a huge family, and at one point, it seemed likely that she would follow in her mom Michelle’s footsteps and have a dozen or more kids. Back in 2014, before they were married, the Counting On couple said they wanted a big family.
“Both of us want as many kids as God will give us and we’ve talked about adoption,” Jill told ABC News. “My parents have kept popping them out so we’ll see how [our] fertility is!”
But Jill’s first two deliveries didn’t exactly go as planned. While Duggar women generally prefer to give birth at home — and that was Jill’s plan as well — it didn’t work out. She was in labor for 70 hours with her first child before he was finally delivered via C-section. Her second son, who was born in July 2017, was also delivered via C-section.
Some fans think it might not be safe for Jill to have more kids. Given Jill’s previous comments about considering adoption, there’s speculation that if she and Derick do decide to expand their family, they will do it through adoption. Fans will just have to wait and see if the Dillard family has another exciting announcement in the works.
