Is Jimmy Fallon Married?

A quick Google search of the question in our headline reveals the name and picture of Nancy Juvonen. A further scroll down the Google search results asks seemingly odd questions like “Is Jimmy Fallon married to Tina Fey?” “Is Drew Barrymore married to Jimmy Fallon?”

The answer to the second question is “No, but it’s easy to assume that because the two worked together on Saturday Night Live.” Fey would probably come up with a much saltier reply.

The answer the third question is “Also no, but close.” Nancy Juvonen, Fallon’s actual wife since 2007 is Drew Barrymore’s producing partner. And yes, they did meet on a movie set.

How Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey got famous together

If you Google Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey, you may come across the headline, “Jimmy Fallon tells Tina Fey ‘I Love You,'” but it’s only the platonic kind. Here’s how they got together.

Fallon began hitting the comedy circuit around the mid-1990s, at about the same time as Fey did. Fey joined the show in 1997, although she got the job as a writer, not a performer. Fallon auditioned a year later and was initially unsuccessful, but won producer Lorne Michaels over by 1998.

“I was there in the room that day,” Fey said in Vanity Fair. “He’s one of two people I’ve ever seen who was completely ready to be on the show. Kristen Wiig is the other one…. And Jimmy was ready—like, if there had been a show to do that night.”

How Fallon and Fey ‘broke up’

Fey advanced from writing to performing in 2000, and she and Fallon became the co-anchors of Weekend Update, succeeding Colin Quinn.

Fallon stayed with SNL through 2004, when Amy Poehler took over his Weekend Update spot. Fey and Fallon reunited on SNL in 2005, when they appeared in a skit arguing over custody over their love child. So that’s probably why Google gets asked if she and Fallon are married.

Fallon landed Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, taking David Letterman’s former slot in 2009.  In 2014, Fallon set his clock back an hour to host The Tonight Show, eventually becoming one of the top-paid hosts in late night.

Fey departed SNL two years after Fallon, pursuing a successful movie and TV career with the likes of 30 Rock and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Fey appeared on Fallon’s Tonight Show last year plugging the Broadway version of Mean Girls, when Fallon told Fey, “‘If you’re lucky throughout your life, you get to meet and spend time with a few people who really change you for the better. For me, you’re one of those people.”

How Jimmy Fallon tied the knot

Fallon met Juvonen on the set of the 2005 film Fever Pitch, directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly of There’s Something About Mary fame.

Fallon and  Drew Barrymore play a couple struggling through Fallon’s rabid Boston Red Sox fandom. The movie was produced by Barrymore with her partner Juvonen, and that’s how the real-life romance started. Fallon told People she was “the coolest girl in the world.”

Fallon described his proposal to the magazine, saying, “It was serious. I did the whole one knee thing. I tried not to cry before she did. I was breaking down a little bit …  “I don’t even remember what I said.” They married in 2007.

Juvonen got her first taste of fame as an assistant to the late Clarence Clemons, the saxophonist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. She met Barrymore through her brother Jim on the 1995 movie Mad Love and the two co-founded Flower Films.

Most of their movies are Barrymore-led vehicles like Never Been Kissed and Charlie’s Angels, though Juvonen also produced the cult film Donnie Darko, as well as the rom-coms He’s Just Not That Into You and How to Be Single.

The couple went on to have two daughters: Winnie Rose, born in 2013, and Frances Cole, born in 2014. Both were surrogate pregnancies.
